"Dr. F/n?"
The young woman looked up from her notes of previous meetings with her new patient and at the slightly older man in the doorway of her office.
"Dr. Kenderson, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" She asked with slight annoyance of her superior.
He chuckled before entering and closing the door behind him. "Now, I know that my trusted employee had decided to give you the...opportunity of helping a high risk patient. For now, I have no reason to question that, except that today I hear the for your first visit with a highly dangerous criminal man, you went IN PERSON?" His demenour had slowly changed from friendly boss to angered dictator.
But the woman only smiled wide at the males efforts to suppress her courage. "Well sir, in my oinion, he is only dangerous if you allow him to be. Say a wolf and a fox are in a locked barn together. Of course, both can be harmful and menacing beasts. Both having swift movements and sharp teeth with quick reflectes. But the larger, more predatorial towards the other. Will they automatically attack? Will the wolf leap to kill the fox?"
"Well yes, because the fox would most certainly be afraid and try to hide!"
F/n clicked her tongue while shaking her head.
"Imagine the fox has a den of cubs, three little ones who need her milk for food. And the wolf an alpha. The wolf knows he must return to his pack to lead and keep them safe, while the fox knows she has to return home for the same reasons. If the fox hides her tail, she shows the alpha she knows he is scary, strong, and smart, but if she sits, calm with attentive eyes, she shows the wolf she is not worth the wounds of a fight, and both will wait until the barn is oppened by the unknowing farmer, who is shocked to see a wolf and fox run side by side through his door as he opens it."
The man is lost in though as he listens to the analogy.
"Now imagine, I walk into a room with an unarmed boy who is scared, alone, and confused. He does't know why his mind is changing, why he 'bears his fangs' to foxes. As the knowing fox, all I need to do is sit, and stay calm. So, please refrain from questioning me again, and if you'd excuse me, I am actually now late to see said boy due to you, so you can show yourself to the door."
F/n walked calmly past the other doctor as she left, smirking at his dumbfounded expression as she walked back to the room with the older than average inhabitant.
The door clicked closed behind her and she sat on the chair, not showing any fear to the boy trying to stalk her.
"So, my boss seems to think you do not deserve to socialize with someone of my experience." She started, instantly grabbing his attention. She grinned as he plopped himself against the wall with a smirk.
"Maybe he's right, what a little girl like you. I'd imagine his fear."
F/n pretented to think before looking back to him with a grin. "That's where I'm confused! All I see in front of me is a confused young boy who doesn't understand why the world flipped his life upside down."
Liu frowned at her and scratched his fingers together as he spoke. "I'm not confused. My foolish mother thought of nothing but her own self and changed everything, knowing that my brother-that Jeffrey was an unstable imbecile!"
The psychiatrist noticed the switch in personality and made a mental note as she nodded with what he said.
"But Sully, I never said that you were confused, I said that Liu was. Although I know your counterpart is very scared, I can tell that you happen to be feeling many different emotions nowhere near what Liu is." F/n said with a steady tone as she leaned forward to look the male in the eyes. "And no matter what, behind those stitches and green eyes you are sad, the personalities that your mind has established to control your emotions are just to cover and guard the walls you've put up."
He sat on the bed with a half grin and cocky twinkle in his eyes. "You really thinin' that Ima just break like the same little kids that peep into this hole of shame?"
The woman laughed heartily and fast before letting out a cheerful sigh, "Oh, most certainly not, but I know you're scared. because you know that I myself have been in shoes of your brand, just a different size."
With that, F/n stood up and turned around to unlock the door, "I'll see you tomorrow hun, and don't worry, I'll get you off those nasty meds."
