NOONA [16]

Yoongi sighed before closely looking at the red heart-shaped box in his hands. Opening it slowly, hearing the satisfying sound of the box closing as he carefully put it in his night desk, he looked at the ring and stared at it.

A wedding ring.

This ring was meant to be for a person, a very beautiful and important one for Yoongi. The ring was supposed to tie them together forever. The ring was supposed to make them a happy couple.

The ring was supposed to make them happy. The ring was supposed to make him happy.

But the universe just loved prooving Yoongi wrong right?

...

Holding hands, they walk to their next class with wide grins in their faces.

Yoongi was 19 at this time, and he was graduating Highschool this year, along with a loved one. His crush, and also his bestfriend for seven years is going to graduate with him.

Ivy Lim.

She was a normal student like Yoongi was and as I stated earlier, they have been the best of friends for seven years already. She also has a crush on Yoongi, but the latter didn't know.

Yoongi was planning to confess his feelings to Ivy when they graduate, and that won't be long. They're one month away from graduating actually.

Days felt like weeks and weeks felt like months, it was already April, which meant they would now graduate. Yoongi prepared for this, not knowing that his friend actually likes him too. Yoongi was a topnotcher, and a great student, he loved his studies and did his best so he could get his course and get in his dream university.

After he had confessed, he asked Ivy to be her girlfriend and of course, of course, she said yes. Words could never even express how greatful Yoongi felt that day, it was the best day of his life.

Two years passed like a flash, Yoongi was two years away from graduating Criminology. He was now 21, and Ivy was too. Their relationship was okay, they had fights and misunderstandings but their hearts always led them to forgiving each other.

Ah, the power of love.

The ring...

The ring was supposed to be a gift and a wedding proposal to Ivy on her birthday, December 22, and Yoongi was going to propose on that same day to make her day more special. They were in a public resort, that's where Yoongi proposed.

But things didn't go as planned.

Ivy ran away without a word, leaving Yoongi dumbfounded.

...

To this day, it has still remained to be a mystery to Yoongi on why Ivy left, but he has changed since then. He took his studies more seriously and when he got his work, he almost instantly got appointed as the Chief, which was shocking for his age, 25.

His soft and sweet demeanor had vanished, turning into almost a literal human robot, not caring about how others thought of him or how others felt, he just did his job with no mercy whatsoever. Kill, report, raid, sort files, it was all he did. He thought that making himself busy would help, he thought that distracting himself from the pain that that day held would help ease the pain he was feeling deep down.

It did help.

At first it did.

After a few months, everything was falling apart, wait, no. HE was falling apart. His emotional and mental state was falling apart and the pain was slowly killing him from the inside. Large bottles of beer and whiskey, even Namjoon couldn't help him recover.

He has changed drastically.

He was almost there, almost over the whole thing that had happened to him four years ago. Just almost there.

But Jimin just had to butt in.

Bringing up the topic of the ring, and bringing Yoongi all the memories in that single accessory.

It was all so pathetic.

Him, the ring, everything about his existance was just so pathetic. He hates this feelings. He...

Hates himself.

Throwing the ring somewhere in the room, Yoongi sighed before grabbing his pillow and setting it under his head.

"This is the worst day ever."

Glancing at the ring that was reflecting a white glare from the moon's light, Yoongi softly sighed before tearing up.

"I miss you Ivy..."

_____

After everything that had happened yesterday night, Yoongi felt hopeless. He wanted this to end. The pain, the suffering, the feeling of being stabbed in the heart over and over and over again.

Choosing to skip both school and work, Yoongi was now again, drunk, mindlessly looking outside his house. His room was dim, the only source of light being the small crack of the window, the sun shining through it and hitting his bed.

Yoongi sighed.

This was nonsense, pathetic, worthless.

Everything was just so fucking messed up.

Dialing a number, from a person who could probably help him to talk him out of this hell hole that he is currently in, he presses the green button and waits for the said person to answer.

"Hey, Seokjin, wanna go grab a drink?"
