Dan was tired of his job at Asda. He was tired of his life living alone in his flat in Manchester. And he was tired of being so socially awkward he couldn't bring himself to make any friends. So he was basically just tired of it all. What he did when he just needed to de-stress was go on a walk. And that was exactly what he was doing on this cold December night. The wind blew at his face causing him to shiver a bit but it was still better than being in his flat all alone and bored. Anything was really. He sighed and continued walking, admiring the pretty Christmas lights decorating the streets.

Phil was at home playing with his dog, Charlie. He didn't have any friends so Charlie was his best friend. He was giggling and letting him lick his face when the wind blew the door open, his made a loud noise which scared Phil's dog and caused him to run straight out of the house

Dan continued walking putting his earphones in and listening to his music, trying to drown out the sounds of passing cars and a few people talking. Not many people were outside now since it was dark out which Dan was thankful for. He didn't like people very much. Not after every human he ever became friends with left him and made him think they were all awful. He had a good reason to hate humanity. He kept walking until he saw a dog running down the street.

Phil ran out of the flat and began looking everywhere for him. He couldn't see him anywhere but Phil didn't even notice that he was running in the complete opposite direction

The dog stopped running and slowed his pace when he saw Dan. Dan stopped and walked towards him slowly. He may hate humans but he loved animals, especially dogs. He reached down to pet the dog's head then checked his collar for an address or phone number or anything that would help him locate the dogs owner

Phil looked everywhere before giving up and going back home, he sat there and cried a softly. Charlie was all he had since everyone else ignores him.

Dan found out the dog's name was Charlie and underneath his name was a phone number. He took out his phone and dialed the number, feeling a bit nervous, his stomach churning a bit. He didn't like talking to people and felt really awkward but he would do it for Charlie to find his owner again. It was really cold and he knew a dog shouldn't be out in the cold like that.

Phil jumped a bit when he heard the phone ring, the only calls he got were rude prank calls or spam phone calls. He still always answered it tho hoping that it was something nice. Phil picked up his phone and hit 'answer'
"Hello?"

"H-hi," Dan began nervously, biting his lip. "Are you Charlie's owner?" He asked, looking down at the dog and petting him softly so he wouldn't run away again

Phil smiled a bit, knowing that the person calling had found him. "yes, I am." He was surprised and very happy that Charlie was found so quickly

"W-well I was on a walk and I found him. I-I um..do you want me to bring him to you?" He asked awkwardly, seeing the address printed underneath his number. He mentally face palmed himself for sounding so awkward and stupid. The guy he was talking to probably thought the same.

Phil smiled to himself "Yes, that would be great." He let out a small sigh of relief, very glad to be getting him back again

"Okay, great. I..I'll be right there. It's not too far from here." He said, then hung up and let out a deep breath that he didn't know he'd been holding. Dan's heart was beating quickly. He had just barely survived the phone call but now he had to interact with Charlie's owner. He continued walking, Charlie following him as he walked towards his flat.

Phil set down his phone and giggled happily. He did a little dance around his apartment, feeling very glad that someone had found and is returning him
