"I was twelve when I lost my parents. Richard was eighteen. My parents were murdered. The rumors were spread that they had committed suicide by burning themselves alive, but that is not what had happened. My dad started from nothing and made up his mark in business by his hard work and dedication. Although I never actually knew what my dad did, I have a vague idea that he was into some textile business.Raka Abraham was my dad's best friend and they were business partners. My dad used to trust him blindly.Raka uncle was very close to us. He used to always buy us gifts, he always gifted Richard with the latest art supplies even before they were launched. I was his favorite one.He said that I reminded him of his daughter. He used to buy me doll sets and so many pretty stationery.Raka uncle had a very pretty wife that's what we always used to hear but never met her in real. She was a very shy kind of person. Though we never had a chance to meet her, we always used to talk about her whenever we got a chance. She seemed to be a very caring lady but she was so suspicious. We, at times, used to wonder whether she existed. But there is this one thing that Raka always kept saying, a phrase that she always used: "The place you dwell is a playground with all the politics being played where you have to choose your team very cunningly, keep a note of who is good to you or who is mean to you and then act accordingly with them. Here 'karma' is the joker and 'not to trust anyone' is the rule. Follow the rules or else you're destroyed". Raka uncle was very famous due to his jocular and sarcastic nature but he had a very secret private life. All we knew was that he had a very pretty, caring wife and two children, a girl and a boy out of which one died, the girl.It was rumored that things between Raka and his wife weren't going well. Anyway, after ten years of their marriage, they were divorced and he had married again but this time, secretly. He would never speak a word about his new wife but again there were rumors that she was Indian and a divorcee. She also had a son, probably of our age. Well, this was all about Raka uncle. I never got any negative vibes from him. Rather, I always used to feel safe around him.But deep inside, there was something about him that bothered me. It seemed like there was a big secret that he was hiding. He wasn't the person whom I knew. He is different from what he pretended to be. There was no news about his children or wife. They were never seen at any party either. Things were pretty normal until my twelfth birthday party. I remember chatting with Raka uncle after all the guests were gone and suddenly he just got up and went straight towards my dad's room.Soon we could hear both of them fighting. There had been many fights between them but this one just didn't seem to end and we could hear mom shouting too.First, there were noises, but then they were loud and clear.Richard and I waited for the fight to end but soon we fell asleep. When we woke up the other day, things seemed pretty normal. Dad was getting ready for his office, the breakfast was kept ready and mom seemed to be quite fresh but her face did swell up as she cried throughout the fight last night. We sat at the table and there was an awkward silence. My family had never been so quiet ever. Richard tried to speak up. He asked about Raka uncle on which my dad replied that he is moving out of town and we would never be able to see him again. But the truth was that Raka had cheated him in business. We couldn't digest the fact because there was no reason why he would do that.We knew that there was something fishy. Nobody was speaking the truth. When my dad warned him that he would go to the cops, Raka with two more masked men entered our house a week later to kill my dad. Richard and I used to sleep in the same room but that day I slept with my parents. At midnight I went to the washroom with mom, and when we returned to our room, the sight was horrible. Two men continuously kept stabbing dad with a knife and one was trying to suffocate him with a cushion. I stood there terrified when my mom shouted loudly. Hearing her shout, the men approached her and stabbed her too. Richard rushed to the room hearing mom scream. He took no moment to think and pulled me to the secret place where we used to hide from mom whenever she got mad at us. It was a terrible sight and one of the three men was Raka because I noticed a tattoo of a lion on his arm. Raka had the same tattoo. He had a lot of tattoos.I had never seen this side of him in my entire life. Though he was funny and I used to feel safe around him, I always knew that there was something fishy about him. And now he didn't seem to be safe anymore.Well, I stopped calling him uncle after that. Richard pulled me and saved me at the right moment or else I would have been killed too. That day, he had seen so much that he always had a fear of losing me. He knew that Raka was searching for us. So we decided to spend the night at the secret place. The secret place was a hidden basement that we discovered once while playing which had a small opening from which we could see the entire lawn. We kept peeping the entire time to check if Raka was gone. Raka kept screaming our names and searching for us. He said that he would never harm us and we should come out to him. He laughed and smiled like a psychopath. He seemed creepy. He would frequently peep through the opening of the basement to make sure that we weren't hiding there and we would quickly crouch and shut our mouth with our palm tightly assuring that we don't make a single noise. His blue eyes shone due to the moonlight each time he peeped into the hole.I can never forget those scary eyes.We waited the entire night in the basement and made sure that Raka was gone before coming out. So the very next morning we came out of the basement checking very carefully if Raka was gone, then we went into our parent's room where my heart sank. The entire room was burned down into ashes.Their bodies were burnt. Richard quickly covered my eyes and took me away. We couldn't gather the courage to go into their room and search for their cells. How can someone be so inhuman I thought. We decided to call my aunt using our telephone but then realized that Raka had cut all the wires to make sure that we couldn't contact anyone. He also locked the door confirming that we didn't get out. We went to the basement again and ran away from the secret opening that was only known to us. As soon as we got out, we ran on our feet as fast as we could. My aunt didn't leave far from our house. We reached her place and kept banging her door at the loudest. We told her the entire story and she was shaken. She called the cops right away and gave us something to eat and also called the doctors to check us. It was found later that Raka had run away with his entire family. There was no sign of him. Our aunt had no children of her own so she had decided to adopt us. We were raised by her. Richard gave up his dream of becoming a painter and he decided to become a C.I.D officer and his only aim was to put Raka behind the bars. He had to look after me and the whole property at a very young age and that is the reason why he's so strict and protective of me. He has done everything to protect me from Raka. But now Raka is back and he has found me.We left and ran away from my aunt's place because we didn't want to risk her life.We came to this town where nobody could find or identify us.Hence decided not to hide our identities and that was one of the worst decision ever. Richard started his agency where he works with his detective friends.Nobody but only his detective friends know about us.His only aim is to put Raka behind the bars.Raka will kill us as soon as he gets to us.He has been looking for us for years. He has been spying on us to make sure that we are the children whom he is looking for.Once he is sure about it, he'll take no time to kill us. I'm scared!" Cried, Georgina.
