Elpis
From the depth it calls -
To the deep unknown it invites
stoking the flames in our hearts
and pricking the doors of our minds
showing us what we do not know
bringing us out of the darkness
and showing us what lies beyond -
beyond the mist
breach it and learn who you are
or turn back and return to the night
but choose you must
and choose you will
but choose you well
for when you look into the abyss
You cannot unknow
what you saw
when you peered into the box
holding the great unknown
Regret you may;
regret you will
if either you choose
but at the depths
may he show his face
when all seems dark
to stoke our hearts and allay our fears.
