Every culture has a counter culture.

Every shift will create a counter one. It's this dichotomy that we have to keep in mind when making any type of change. Social, Political, etc. You have to calculate the response to any change you institute. The biggest mistake people make is they create too big of a shift and the response ultimately sinks them. Think of how when you're on a swing you counter shift your weight. That shift will give you higher lift when you move in the opposite direction. We learn to calculate the response to those shifts in weight to control our movement. It's no different for larger changes. If you research all the decisions England made in response to the waves disgruntled colonists were making the inevitable responses could be easily read. Sure looking into the past you can always see the inevitable, but often current events aren't as cryptic as we think. Shifts are happening all the time around us. Pay attention to the big ones and you can oft predict what happens next.

As an example, whatever socialist shifts will happen in the future in the US will be influence more by the decisions conservatives are making than liberals. It's critical to not overreact to things or over respond because the echo we hear may not be pleasant. Societies counter response are the big moments in history we often memorialize in the future. The martyrdom of any upcoming leader has often been the death blow of the oppressor. It's this fact that often draws my attention. The deployment of federal agents to stop "Protestors" will have a counter response. That response could look like these same agents being deployed against a different demographic in the hands of another ruling party in the future. This is why if you are a 2nd amendment supporter you should be alarmed at the usage of these agents against a group you may entirely disagree with. Even just out of the self preservation of not wanting it to happen to you in the future. The response could also be the future limitation that might be placed on the federal government because of events like these. As more people are arrested then the likely hood of an incident occurring or a lawsuit being filed becomes increases. The response could even be an increase in support of demilitarizing more aspects of our country. The reliance on armed law enforcement is based on a deficiency of self governance. We have bought into the idea that crime is inevitable but the truth is the scale of criminal activity can be influenced culturally and that the proper response isn't always a bigger gun.

So what shifts are being made now that will provoke a response we can plan for?
