Chapter 11- Something Borrowed

After about a week or so of school, Aizawa informed Denki that they would be going on a field trip the next day.

Denki bounced into my room that night, hyper as hell, "We're going on a field trip tomorrow!"

I look up from texting Shinso, this time from my personal number, "Already? It's only like, the second week of school."

He nods, "I guess, but Aizawa-san really grills us when it comes to our training. It's weird to see how different he is at home and in school." I chuckle, nodding. We chat for a few more minutes before he goes out and I go back to texting Shinso.

I- Apparently Class 1-A is already going on a field trip

S- huh. thats weird

I- I thought so too lol. I kind of have a bad feeling about it... idk why

S- maybe youre just worried since its so early in the year

I- Yeah, that's probably it. How's your homework going?

S- meh its boring. wanna come over and play video games?

I- I'll see if my dad will let me :D

I put my phone down, practically racing downstairs to ask Aizawa and Hizashi if I could go to a friend's house. As soon as I get down there I get anxious. This is the first time I've asked to do something like this. I hope they don't mind. I walk up to Aizawa and tap him on the shoulder lightly as he's playing on his phone. He looks at me, "Hm?"

"I w-was just wondering i-if I could go over to a friend's house for a bit."

"Yeah, that's fine, just be back before dark," I nod, thanking him and running upstairs. As I get to the top, Denki opens his door, "What's this about going to a friend's house?"

I smile, "Shinso invited me over!"

"Oh, that purple-haired dude that you have a crush on?" Denki smirks and raises an eyebrow at me. I panic and shush him, and he just laughs at me.

"Yes, it's him. And before you get all protective, it's not anything weird! He just invited me over play video games," I say, looking down at my feet. "He probably wouldn't like me anyway."

Denki hits me on the back of my head, "Why wouldn't he like you?"

"Maybe he's not into guys! Or maybe he just doesn't like me the same way I like him or-"

Denki hits me again, "Chill. It's not like I'm saying you should confess to him, but you need to have a little more confidence!"

I nod, "Thanks Denki,"

"No prob bro. Now get ready for your date."

"IT'S NOT A DATE!"

He pushed me off, laughing loudly.

I go back to my room, grabbing a pair of black gym shorts, a t-shirt that says 'flannel shirt' on it, and my red shoes. I get dressed quickly and tell Shinso that I'm able to come over and to send me his address. After a minute he sends it to me and I smile, putting the address into Google maps. It's not too far, looks like it'll be about a 10-minute walk. I tell Aizawa and Hizashi I'm leaving, and start heading over towards his house.  I hum as I walk, a slight spring in my step. I guess I'm really happy to see Shinso. And this means we're officially friends as well!
