Kai finds out you like him

You smiled waving Kai over as he entered Mystic Grill. A bright smile covered his once sad expression as he notices you and makes his way over.

"Hey Kai, what's up?" You ask as you order another two drinks from the bartender for you two, "Hm, I don't know, the sky?" He cheekily responded to which you playfully rolled your eyes chuckling, "Alright Parker, you got me there, so, what's on your mind?" You asked, remembering the distant look he had on his face when he entered, "You." He teased jokingly nudging your shoulder, you smiled thanking the bartender as he placed down the two drinks

Kai tutted as you downed the shot quickly, "Aren't you a little young to be drinking?" He smugly asked you scoffed as he too downed his drink. "We're the same age Malakai." You smirk as you breathe out his name knowing he hates it, but you're the only person he doesn't attack verbally or physically when using it.

You began to grab your bag and jacket as you stood up, "Anyway I should get going, I still have college work to do, see you around Parker." You waved but Kai was not so obliging to let you go so easily, "Hey, let me walk you home." He suggested as he held the door open for you before walking out himself.

"No thanks Kai, I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself." You promised patting his chest lightly with your hand before strutting off, your jacket slung over your shoulder, you smirked knowing his eyes were probably on your body as you made your way home.

So, another run in with Kai?" Elena asked over the phone. You were currently laying on top of your bed with your college books open but not much studying was being done due to your conversation with Elena which started just over half an hour ago.

"Yeah, I met him at the grill and he was his usual self when he's around me, joking, teasing, he even offered to walk me home, yet again, even though he knows I've trained well to keep myself protected." You replied as you rolled up onto your back and gazed up at your blank bedroom ceiling.

Elena sighed and you could practically hear her smile and roll her eyes as she spoke back, "Sounds like the heretic is crushing on you, oh! isn't that weird, since I already mentioned this to you before." She faked gasped as you scoffed shaking your head, "He does not!"

"Oh he does too, and let's face it, you like him back!" You blushed because you knew her remarks were correct but you still tried to cover it up, "Oh grow up 'Laena, you don't need to try to hook me up with anyone now that your all happy in a relationship."

Elena sighed, "I'm just saying maybe you should talk to him, I'll go with you if you want in case things go south, which I know they won't!" Elena practically begged you to agree until you finally did and she cheered, "Great, meet you at the bar tomorrow after college! Bye Y/N"

You exchanged your goodbye before Elena hung up and you draped your arm over your forehead, "What did I get myself into?"

"Hey Y/N!" Kai brightly greeted as he took the empty seat beside you in the bar, Elena was close by but hidden from view wanting to hear everything that happens.

"Hey Kai, what brings you here?" You curiously asked Kai bit his lip looking down before glancing up at you, "Oh, you know, the alcohol is pretty cheap here." He said as an excuse which made you raise an eyebrow, "Sure Kai, suure." You teased, he smiled nervously chuckling.

"You know, a little birdy told me something really interesting recently, I was wondering if you could help me figure out if it's true or not?" You wondered tilting your head as you noticed Kai's eyes widen for a second before he blinked rapidly and nodded his head, "Sure, what's the uh- the...thing?" He was lost for words which made you giggle as you leant in closer,

"I was told that you have a bit of a crush on me, and with all the teasing and offers to walk me home, I grew quite curious, I mean, it can't be a coincidence that you're practically everywhere I go, right? I mean, Mystic Grill, the library, outside my exact college classroom, anything to say?" You innocently asked as you brought your hand to his chest, a gentle smirk on your face, Kai, speechless quickly shook his head making you giggle.

"You know if you wanted sex, you could've just asked."

Kai's eyes shot up to yours in shock as he sputtered out the words, "Wait, what?" which made you giggle but finally move away to allow Kai to breathe normally.

"I mean it, you didn't need to tease me all the time and find my whereabouts twenty-four seven if you just asked me out on a date or just to hang out with you I would." You honestly replied, forgetting that Elena was more than likely still listening in on your conversation.

Kai, who now held a confident smirk on his face bit his lip before nodding, "Okay then, uh Y/N, will you- I mean, sorry, would you like to go out sometime? Maybe to dinner? Back to mine afterwards?" He asked and you almost had the urge to deny him just to see his reaction but in the end,  you knew that would be cruel and instead nodded,

"That sounds great Kai, how about you pick me up from my place at eight on Saturday, I'll have no college work to do so we won't need to rush, sound good?" You asked and Kai vigorously nodded his head happily,

"Perfect!"
