Knock Knock

There's only one reason there's a knock this early in the morning

"There's someone here to see you.."

The girl shuffled in her bed and yawned. She heard and understood the words spoken to her.

"I don't care..Tell them to go away.."

"But they came all the way to see you-"

"I don't care they're all fake mother...no one could ever want me."

"You don't know that-"

"I do..they all are forced here by their mothers and fathers to take pity on a lonely girl.." She turned away, tears pricking at her eyes.

"It's all your fault im like this" She whispered to herself. The mother closed the door and the girl slipped back into the darkness of her room. It's my fault too, what was I thinking..? The girl peeked out the window until the unwanted guests left. Once  the coast was clear, she opened her bedroom door and winced at the bright light outside of her room. She changed clothes and brushed her teeth and went out the front door to her small garden.

Tomato...Serano peppers...Jalapeño peppers...Squash...Cucumbers...Four O'Clock flowers...Citronella...Strawberry..Butterfly Weed..Roses

Why doesn't anyone see me the way he does? A judging stare and an uncomfortable greeting..all the red flags..

The girl yawned again while she watered the plants and picked at the scabs all over her legs, forearms and fingers. She sighs and at the same time a throbbing pain entered her head, like a nail driving into her cranium. She fell to the ground as she felt thousands of memories flood her.

"S..Stop..It..H..Hurts"

The only thing she could make out was a single piece of clothing.

What was it called again...?

The mother noticed the girl out in the garden and walked towards her.

"I'm sorry about this morning..You said you wanted a future...and-"

"No it's okay..I know what I said...I don't want..That..anymore.."

The mother's face lit up in amazement

"Really?"

The girl closed her eyes for a second and held in her screams.

"Yup" She smiled and laughed

"I mean.."

"Who could ever truly love me?"

She whispered too quiet for the mother to hear over her excitement

'I want that dress'

'I want that ring'

'I want that party'

'I want all the things I tell you I hate'

'But..'

'I owe it to you to nod and obey'

'I push it away but it always sneeks into my mind'
