Wang Yibo POV

His smile that I tried to replicate was now a transition of trembling lips. My knees gave out and I landed on the hard floor, but numb to the pain. My eyes gazing at the couple in front of me.

They are his parents!

Those eyes – I could never mistake them. Mrs. Xiao sat down in front of me, her oracles translating a million beats. With a failing smile she asked,

"Can I touch you?"

I didn't say a word, I couldn't say a world. Like the northern wind, freezing me with a blizzard of emotions. Carefully, her trembling hands reached for me. Her warm touch on my cheeks was like a sun, thawing away the ice.

With her thumb, she wipes away my tears, making me realize that I've been crying. I can't cry. I promised to smile for his sake. I can't break down now.

"Xiao Zhan..."

She whispered and my tears broke lose, resulted into the loud wails of agony.

Xiao Zhan...Come back

She held me in her arms and cried beside me.

"B-but how?" I asked her.

How are they alive? Where were they? Why did they leave Zhan-ge alone? And how come they are with my parents? Why are they back now? What is happening?

"I'm sorry honey, we will explain everything." Mrs. Xiao said and pulled me up.

My brother urged me to sit beside him. We sat again, facing Xiao Zhan's parents.

"First the obvious one, we didn't die." 

lmao lol rofl 

What's next?

Mr. Xiao looked down and continued,

"We ran away."

Like Sonic or road runner?

"You might know that I was the moon princess once." Mrs. Xiao told.

I nodded my head.

"I had the power to make the divine medicine – to cure the incurable disease, to revive the dead and even to grant immortality."

Such magnificent powers. She gave up all that to save Zhan-ge. I felt a rush of gratitude. How genuinely she loves them and that love cost her everything.

"I thought Zhan was a human, he had trouble breathing on the moon. So, I brought him to Earth. But even on the Earth, he behaved like a dead body." Mrs. Xiao said in a painful voice as if re-living those moments.

"I carried him to the human doctors but they all said the same thing, 'im sorry, we can't help you, he's already dead.'"

Her voice trembled, emphasizing the pain she felt back then. How helpless would she feel, to be able to save everyone except her own son?

"But I could feel that he was alive, he had to be, he was my son after all. So, I didn't give up. And that is when I met your mother in one of the hospitals." Mr. Xiao held his wife's hand. Just having your life partner with you, is enough courage.

"She was in pain, the doctor told your father to make a choice, to either save you or your mother. It was painful to watch them. I could feel their pain, I was forced to abandon my love as well."
