Madi got into her pyjamas and put her hair into a tight bun. She was fatigued. At school, she had 2 presentations and a science quiz. At the coffee shop, Whipp'd, her boss had given her a ten - minute lecture after she had accidentally dropped half a cup of coffee on the floor.
This was her favourite time of the day. She could finally be her quirky teen self and stalk people on social media or watch some YouTube. Today, she decided she wanted to do some research on her dream college, Harvard University.
Unfortunately, her family wasn't exactly financially secure. She had everything a girl her age needed, but going to Harvard seemed impossible to her parents, which made them feel at fault. Madi felt bad for them, so she did everything she could to make them happy.
Every time she looked at pictures of her dream university, the pit in her stomach grew deeper and deeper and for some reason, she felt even more unlikely to getting into the college.
She let out an exasperated sigh, shut down her laptop, and went to bed. She still had another day full of coffee and assignments before the weekend.

Note: This is my first time writing a story on Wattpad and I have absolutely no idea how this works, but I hope whoever is reading this, likes it. Yes, it's a very short chapter with no twists or scary things happening. I figured that giving my character an introduction was important. The real stuff starts happening in Chapter 2.
