It was 12 pm and Zayn is still roaming in the streets of Manhattan because his heart is refusing to meet Harry again. He can't bring himself and ask him why they're not talking anymore.

Finally, when Zayn entered their room through the window he planned to sleep even without taking shower but then he noticed the silhouette in the dim night light, drinking a glass of whisky and Zayn can picture the infamous smirk on Harry's face.

"What are doing at this hour?" Zayn asked once the lights are up.

"I've been waiting for you." Harry said with a raspy voice and only then Zayn noticed Harry's tired eyes.

"Why?" He asked after a long silence.

"I was hoping I can take you somewhere." Harry answered keeping the empty glass away.

"At this hour?" Zayn asked raising an eyebrow with a smirk.

"Yeah." Harry smiled. "Only if you're not tired." He asked walking towards him.

"No, I'm not tired." Zayn replied even though he was dying to sleep.

"I can see that." Harry said stroking the skin under Zayn's tired eyes. "Are you sure?" He asked with a voice of concern. If there is one thing common between Zayn and Harry then that is their inability to hide their emotions. All those emotions inside them flash in their eyes like a rom-com movie and their voice is no better.

"Never been so sure." Zayn whispered in the silence making Harry smile, a genuine smile.

"Then c'mon." And with that, both of them left their dorm through the window.

Zayn has never been to this part of Manhattan. All he knows is the sound of racing bikes in late nights and horns blaring in the irritating traffic and many new voices talking about very different things.

From their campus, if they take right, it leads to the main road and if they take left, it leads to the darkest part of this city. And that's what they took, left.

This path they're taking is something Zayn have never been to. The eerie silence is killing him because it reminds him how much empty he is. He is afraid of dark not because slender man will take him to another world, it's only because his own dark thoughts swallow him and take him to his own dark world which he never wants to visit again.

He was following Harry for 20 minutes now, and he doesn't know where they're going now. He also had a thought that what if Harry is a serial killer?! But he can't do anything now because the deeper they walk in the roads the darker it gets. So he would rather walk with a serial killer than walking alone in this street.

Zayn is following Harry—not walking beside him but walking right behind him—so if Harry stops walking then Zayn would bump on him. And that's what happened after a couple of minutes, Harry stopped abruptly for no fuckin' reason and Zayn bumped onto him which in return sent him down to the cold cement ground.

"I'm so sorry." Harry said kneeling beside him. "I didn't see you behind me." He said helping Zayn to sit up.

"What do you mean you didn't see me?" Zayn asked frowning because his left elbow just felt electricity. "I was right behind you."

"Yeah, right. But I was thinking about something and I forgot about you." He said caressing Zayn's elbow. "Just when I remembered you are with me too, I turned around to see you and you fell down."

"Seems like you were in deep thought?" Zayn asked tilting his head a little.

"Yeah, this long silent road always pulls me to a new universe, which is not new just my thoughts." He shrugged. "Anyways sorry, how's your elbow?"

"It's okay." Zayn smiled at Harry's worried face. "Just felt a little electricity." And then he mumbled to himself. "Don't know why tho'."

"It's because of that funny bone." Harry said making Zayn look up at him. "You have a nerve passing there right under your skin, after that, it hides beneath some muscle." He shrugged.

"Seems like someone loves biology?!" Zayn chuckled making Harry smile.

"Whatever." Harry waved his hand dismissively. "Why were you so close to me? Are you scared of the dark?" He smirked.

"Absolutely not." Zayn scoffed and tried to get up.

"Are you scared of those urban legends?" Harry asked getting up, so now Zayn is looking up at him like a lost puppy. "Are you scared of slender man?" Harry asked wiggling his fingers.

Harry is standing right in front of a street lamp that is opposite to their side-walk so we can only see Harry's silhouette, not his beautiful features. Harry's lanky legs and those lady's finger-sized fingers are not helping.

"If not for your luscious curls curly, I would've thought you are a slender man." Zayn said getting up and dusting off the dirt. He was so busy taking care of his shirt that he missed Harry's fond smile.

"Whatever." Harry said gaining Zayn's attention. "I'm no superman but I'll be a superhuman to save you tonight from any danger Zee, don't worry." He said as he put his arm around Zayn's shoulder.

And Zayn wants to believe him, believe him with everything he has, believe him with every good and bad inside him, with every right and wrong in his life, with every perfection and flaws of him.

And so he did, he believed those honest eyes staring at him. He believed those green eyes which sparkled under the moonlight. If only the sky is green, he would've seen his own world in Harry's eyes.

Zayn trusted Harry but he doesn't know why. Maybe because he never had anyone to trust, who knows?!!
