Priorities (murdoc x gender neutral reader angst oneshot)

You wrapped your coat tightly around yourself as you walked to Kong studios, rain pouring down your face. Murdoc had stood you up once again and you'd finally had enough. This was the seventh time he'd left you alone on date night and he'd always give you the same old slurred response down the phone
"I'm busy, love. I completely forgot"
Well it was either that or
"Listen maybe another time. Just invite a friend you'll have a blast with them instead of little old me"
You were growing tired of it. You missed the murdoc you had before his little band debuted. Before he crashed that car into that stupid face ache of a bloke who wasn't bright enough to run when he saw a car coming his way. You kept thinking about the chain of events that had lead to all of this as you arrived outside kong studios. You rung the doorbell and waited outside. Eventually you heard a loud crash followed by the screen turning on
"Oh darling you're here...wait...what you doing here?" It was Murdoc. You just looked at the screen coldly before telling him to let you in. He opened the door and you walked inside, slamming the door for him before turning around
"Date night, where were you?" You ask him and before he could open his mouth you quickly interrupted with "and DON'T tell me you're busy or that you supposedly forgot. You're drunk again. I'm so sick of it" you say, your voice slowly getting louder
"Will you please calm down? Noodles sleeping" he slurred, clearly just trying to get you to pipe down a little. You'd seen the interviews, that kid was exposed to violence so young and although you always tried to convince yourself that murdoc wasn't actually abusive towards Stu you knew deep down that he was
"Just fuck off" you whispered under your breath. Murdoc stood there in shock as he took your hand
"Listen, honey, you don't have to be all upset. I promise I'll show up next time" he tried to reassure you. You just scoffed and snatched your hand away before looking him in the eyes
"There's not going to be a next time Murdoc" you said your words without any remorse and no visible upset on your face. Murdoc stood there in confusion
"What do you mean? You can't possibly be leaving me. You love me too much" he said and smiled at you. You just shook your head and rolled your eyes at him
"I can leave you and I am leaving you. This is it, we're finished" you say, kicking him in the shins before marching out of kong studios. Murdoc sat on the floor after you left, completely overwhelmed but knowing it was his fault. He got back up and limped to his bed before blacking out on it
