Trevor's POV
The weekend went by quickly. It was now Monday morning and I was dreading school today. Most of the weekend I was either in my room alone or Dennis came over and we played video games. My mother can't even look me in the eye, after my dad told her what happened and I honestly can't even blame her. I can hardly look at myself in the mirror. I take a quick shower this morning and just throw on the first pair of jeans and T-shirt I see and throw on shoes not even caring how bad I look.
I pull up into the school parking lot and park my car. I take a deep breathe as I see Sam and Luke walking towards me. "Hey where have you been?" Sam asks as he puts his arm around my shoulder. "Just haven't been feeling up to going anywhere over the weekend." I answer nervously. "Whatever." "Did you hear about that Kelsey girl?" Luke asks as I tense. "Yeah, I heard she overdosed. She was probably wanting the attention after the big blow up." Sam chuckles and I push his arm off me. "Dude what the hell?" He says. "Don't talk about her like that" I say sternly and he rolls his eyes.
"Whats your issue? Do you seriously have feelings for that girl?" He laughs. "Yes. I actually have feelings for that girl. Her name is Kelsey Young. Shes an amazing girl and I feel horrible about what happened and you should too." I say angrily as I see Dennis runs up to me and tries to pull me away from the group as Shelly and her girls show up. "What the hell is going on?" Shelly asks. "Your boy here actually caught feelings for the loser." Sam answers her question and she looks pissed.
"Why her? Whats so special about HER!" She throws a tantrum. "She was real. She has a past-" "Yeah she does." Shelly interrupts. "But she was over coming it and we made it worse." I answer ignoring her interruption. "I was myself around her." "Well she'll never forgive you after everything and if she does shes a bigger idiot then we thought." Shelly says and grabs Sams hand and walks off leaving me, Dennis and Luke alone.
"Hows she doing anyway?" Luke asks sincere evident in his voice. "She doesn't want to see me, and I can't blame her." "Is she really coming back to school next week?" He asks as I freeze looking over at Dennis. "I don't know." I ask. "We should get to class." I add and we continue the rest of the day ignoring everyone and their comments.
The school day goes by quickly and when I enter the house I am surprised when I see Mark Young standing in the living room with my dad. "Trevor Come in here son." My dad says as I quietly shut the front door walking into the room and seeing the anger evident on Mark's face. "I need to know what happened." He says taking a seat on the couch as I take a seat across from him and my dad. "What are you talking about?" I ask nervously. "She didn't want to see you and I want to know what happened." He speaks sternly. I take a deep breathe. "Just know that I'm so sorry and I never met for anything to happen." He nods as I tell the story from the beginning.
"You played my niece." He asks more like a statement. "You have to know I fell in love with her. I wanted to tell her-" "But you didn't have the chance or what?" "I don't know. I guess I just wanted to be with her in peace before shit hit the fan. But you have to know I really do love her." He stands up and gathers his jacket. "Wait is she really coming back to school next week?" I ask hopeful. "She has tests next week and after that she will be going to a new school." He says and walks out the door.
"Your lucky he didn't punch you or fire me." My dad says as he gets up from the couch that Mark and him shared just a minute ago. "How do I fix this dad? I love her. She can't just leave." I beg and he turns to face me. "I don't know how you can fix this son. I understand that you love her but I honestly think you just ruined what would have been the best thing in your life." He states and walks up the stairs leaving me alone with my thoughts.
The week goes by quickly and Dennis and Luke came over on the weekend to check up on me. Today Kelsey is coming back to school and I can't wait to see her even if she wants nothing to do with me. I'll be there if she needs me even, if its only to scream or hit me. I rush downstairs and grab a quick breakfast. "Woah are you in a hurry?" My mother asks me. "Kelsey comes back to school today and I don't want to be late." "Son I think you need to give her space." My mother says. "I know. But I want to be there when she arrives in case she needs anything." I say and rush out the door and into my car. As I pull into my parking spot I see Dennis pull in after Luke. Then I see her Uncle's car and I swear my heart stops beating as I see her step out of the car and grab her backpack.
Kelsey's POV
"I don't want to go back." I state as my Uncle drives me to the school. "I know but just finish these tests then you can start the new school." "Why can't the teacher just send me them I promise I won't cheat." "I know Kelsey but then you can say bye to your friends." "My friends were fake thanks to Trevor." I sigh as my Uncle pulls into the school parking lot and the first person I see is the devil himself.
