After almost eight hours of driving nonstop other than at a McDonald's to use their very sketchy restroom and to get a McFlurry, I finally see the "Welcome to Wisconsin" sign. I let out a sigh of relief knowing that I am almost home. Then i think again, i am almost home. dang it. Although I do love my parents and siblings, they can be a little much. At least we are going to go to Florida and have some fun in Disney World!

I park my 2016 black Camry in our unusually steep driveway, get my stuff down, and walk up the sidewalk. Before I can even step on the porch i hear the door swing open and then i am tackled by my eight year old brother, Steve. "I'm glad someone missed me!" i say as Steve helps me up from the front lawn. "Of course i missed you!" he exclaimed with his youthful voice. "Alex has been so boring and doesn't want to play minecraft with me." I introduced my brother to minecraft right before i left for college so he would have something to do when he would miss me because him and Alex dont have too much in common. I walk through the front door with a big smile, glad to be home, and glad to have such a great little brother. My mom and dad greet me with open arms and embrace me and tell me about how much they missed me and asked how my classes are, you know, the usual for a college student. I answer their questions with a smile because i truly did miss them. I look around at my childhood home. Nothing has changed. Not the order of the magnets on the fridge, the scribbles on the wall from when I was younger and thought the house needed some more color, not even the way my parents look.

Something is different though, "Where's Alex?" i ask confused because she didnt jokingly insult me when i first walked into the house like usual. "At a boy's house!" Steve shouts trying to out my sister's young relationship to me. "Steven!" mom shouts at him for his loud mouth. "She's at a boy's house? Does she have a boyfriend?" I ask hoping to get the actual answer. "Yep. She's growing up!" my mom says jokingly. Why wouldn't she talk to me about this? We used to be so close. I think to myself at the revelation that my sister and I have started to drift. "Well are you hungry?" my dad says breaking my train of thought. "Yeah I could eat." i tell him still not able to get the thought of Alex and I drifting.

I'm in my room on dream team twitter when I hear the door open from upstairs. I throw my phone on my bed and head downstairs. "Is that a loser i hear?" i say as i go down the stairs and see my sister standing in the threshold. "You must be listening to your footsteps then." she fires back at me and smirks. We look at each other and laugh and hug each other. "Hey, i heard you were at a boy's house!" i tell her as we walk up the stairs on the way to my room to talk. "Yeah, somewhere you've never been. HA!" she says with a lot of attitude behind it. "Ouch, that one hurt. And i HAVE been to a boy's house thank you very much." "For a school project doesn't count, V." "Whatever." i'm tired of her roasting me so i change the subject back to her. "So, what's up? we haven't talked in a while" We then talk til 1 am and we say good night to each other and go to bed.
