"What are you doing?" A woman's voice rings out, directed at a man who's wrestling some kind of bird in the backyard.

"Why do you even bother asking.." Another voice, another woman who's standing beside her sighs.

The man finally lets go of the bird, and it flies away quickly and vanishes into the trees that tower of the property. He laughs loudly, turning back to the women who are standing across the yard.

"It had something on it's wing!"

The woman facepalms, breathing out a loud sigh before looking back up at the man. His long hair is tied back into a ponytail, and he wears nothing but a pair of black pants that are covered in dirt and lined with fur at the hem.

"You married him." The woman beside her laughs before turning and entering the mansion they are standing outside of.

"Unfortunately." She groans, hiding the grin forming across her pink tinted lips as he runs towards her to pick her up in a big hug.

Aoi snaps her eyes open, a brush halfway through her raven black hair.

"Ah, I feel asleep.." She murmurs, rubbing her eyes for a moment.

It's late morning now, only an hour away from her destined meeting time with Inosuke, and she had already fallen asleep once before. A knock on the door makes her jump in surprise.

"Aoi? Have you eaten lunch yet?" Kanao's voice questions from behind the door to her room, sounding moderately worried that she had fallen asleep.

"I'm fine.. I think I'll get something while I'm out." She responds, resuming to comb her hair while staring at her reflection in the vanity.

"I made coffee, if you want any. You must be tired." Kanao offers.

"Oh, thanks. You can come in, if you want."

The door opens slowly to reveal a now showered and cleaned up girl in her signature side ponytail, who's clutching a blue mug filled to the brim with her caffeinated coffee.

"Here." She says simply, placing the cup on a butterfly shaped coaster that's resting on the vanity's desk. "This should help, considering you haven't had any sleep."

"You're a lifesaver." Aoi breathes, taking a sip of the beverage as Kanao sits down on her bed.

"How long are you're parents going to be out of town?"

"For the rest of the week. They called a while ago to tell me the trip had gotten extended."

"Ah, I see. But you really saved my life last night.. If I had came out wasted like that, I think my sisters would have killed me." Kanao laughs, falling onto her back and spreading her arms across the comforter. "Well, maybe not sisters, just big sis Shinobu."

"I can't have my best friend killed, can I?" Aoi smiles, now pulling her hair into a singular high ponytail with her remaining hair clip.

"Oh~ What would you ever do without me!"

The lilac eyed girl turns her head, still resting on the mattress. "That's new. But it suits you."

"Really?" She finishes tying the ponytail in with a final wrap around, now brushing through her side bangs with a smaller comb. "Well, it's only temporary. Once I get my other clip back from that idiot, then the signature twin tails will be back."

"This 'Inosuke' guy.. is he cute?" Kanao interrogates, a smile forming on her face as she sees her friend's surprised expression in the reflection of the mirror.
