~Third person pov~

It was another weird day for the Kurasuno Volleyball team.

As they were in the club room, they noticed a certain short ginger had an extra bag with him, he also seemed exhausted.

"Boke! Why do you have an extra bag?" Kageyama asked him

"Ah, I just have something I have to do after practice!" He said smiling brightly.

He goes to peel off his shirt, and when he does there are gasps.

Shit. I took a pretty bad fall on the ice yesterday.. it's probably bruised.. Hinata thought to himself

"HINATA?! Are you okay? Where did you get that bruise?" Suga asks worriedly

"Ah Suga-senpai! I just fell off my bike! No worries!" He showed them that signature smile and they all seemed to believe him. All but one, highly observant blonde.

They all hurry down to the gym and begin to warm up.

~Le Time Skip~

Practice was nearing an end and Hinata had totally forgotten to ask if he could leave about 20 minutes early. He only realized this when he heard his phone going off.

"Asha! Sorry that's mine!" He runs over and picks it up.

*(Normal is Japanese, Underline is Russian)*

"SHOUYO!! Where are you? You were supposed to be out here 15 minutes ago! We're going to be running late for practice!" A voice yelled very loudly over the phone, loud enough he had to slightly take the phone away from his ear.

"Sorry! I got so caught up i didn't even realize the time! I'll be there in five!"

"Oi kiddo, you're gonna give me a heart attack!"

"Sorry Papa! Be there sooooon!"

Hinata hung up the phone to turn around and grab his stuff, he noticed all his teammates had very, very confused expressions.

"What's wrong guys?" He was confused why they were looking at him like that

"You speak Russian??" Sugawara asked

Hinata's eyes went wide with realization, he facepalmed himself "Look, I don't have time to explain right now, that was uh.. family emergency and I gotta go!" Hinata grabs his things and bolts out the door, leaving everyone even more confused then they already were.

"Suga, you speak Russian?" Tanaka asked

"Mhm! My Father is part Russian and he has a lot of Russian friends. I learned the language very early on." He replied

"What was Hinata saying?" Noya asks

"Well, he speaks the language very fluently, and I'm a little rusty so I only understood parts of the conversation.."

"The shrimp speaks it fluently? Like it's his second nature?" Tsukishima asked curiously

"Yeah, he was speaking so fast! It was kinda amazing. I know he called the man on the phone Papa, so that probably has something to do with it." Suga shrugged

"He seemed a little nervous don't you guys think?" Asahi said

"Mmhm.. and with that bruise.." Kageyama said quietly

"Hey now. Let's not go making assumptions, we all know Hinata can me.. very clumsy. We'll keep an eye out though." Daichi tried reassuring Them.

~With Hinata~

"Papa Viktor! I'm so sorry!" He said rushing into the car.

"It's alright Shouyo! Let's go!" They both had bright smiles on.

"I'm so excited, I really feel like I can get gold this year!" Hinata said enthusiastically

"I believe in you son. Also, I might make a request with your school about you being reminded to get out earlier for practice. The shows will be here before you know it, you need to land that quadruple toe loop." Viktor said eyeing the young boy

"It just makes me nervous because Volleyball matches are starting soon as well. I know I can do it, I've done more on less sleep, and more stress though." Hinata sighed

"We'll talk to dad and see if we can work in some extra hours on the weekends. As for volleyball practice, we need to get you out at least 20-30 minutes early." Viktor knew his son wouldn't be happy about that, but he also had the urge to help him get first this year. Mostly after last year's.. problem.

~FLASHBACK~

"Welcome the amazing Shoka Hina!"  An announcer introduced him.

Everything was going fine, his show was about loss, and mourning. While in the middle of one of his jumps, one that he's landed hundreds of times, then he saw her, he saw his mother in the crowd.

It caught his eye, causing him to forget he's in the middle of jump, without realizing it, Hinata lands very wrong, making his body fall to the ice with a thunk.

This was the first time anything like this had happened to him. He had been competing for years. Sure he flubs sometimes, but nothing like this.

There were gasps heard from the audience. Everyone watched the boy on the ice, he almost seemed lifeless. There was no movement.

Viktor and Yuri were the first to rush by his side. He had a wound on his head and they thought for sure he had a concussion.

It was only the third performance he'd done for the season, he ended up having to be removed for the rest because of his injury.

~FLASHBACK OVER~

"Papa. I wanna win this for her. I have two more years of volleyball ahead, I'm sure missing a little practice won't hurt." Hinata smiled at Viktor

"I'll do everything I can to help you." He smiled

After they arrived an hour later to the rink, thankfully it was a Friday. Yuri was going to call his school and coach to inform them that Hinata will be missing practice tomorrow, and will need to get out early by at least 30 minutes for family reasons.

They didn't know it would end up causing such and uproar.
