(Involves spoiler of Kakashis past)
Emiko POV
"Emiko!" I heard brother stumbled through the woods, standing infront of me. "I finally found you... Geez Emiko... You shouldn't leave me like that..."
"I'm sorry, bro. I-i just got mad. I wanted to... To clear my head without saying something I'd regret." I bowed and sighed, glancing to the side to see Jian standing in the shadows. Crap, what is he doing? I saw him look straight into my eyes, we made eye contact then he disappeared once again.
"Whats with the formalities?" Brother questioned as I stood up straight.
"Oh, just practicing for when I see the Hokage." He smiled and nodded.
"Well thats weird becuase the Em I know, doesn't care about those sorts of stuff. So dont worry about it, your fine the way you are." He smiled and grabbed my hand. "I'm sorry for throwing everything at your face all at once, sis. I should've taken one step at a time."
"Its fine, big bro." I grinned while looking up at him.
"Its just... Everyone kept bothering us... We wanted to... Ugh its just all a mess." I nodded. We continued to make our way through this dense forest.
We made our way home, stopped at many shops for some ingrediants for dinner and had a few conversations with people around the compound. Brother made sure that I wasn't to hear any word which didn't concern me, now that hes a true shinobi.
"Oh, Emiko! Your safe!" Mother gasped and ran towards me, hugging.
"H-hey... Mother, it's not like you to be breaking formality." She frowned and bumped my head with the back of her palm. "Ow! Hey! What was that for?"
"Don't sass me, young lady. Besides you ran off all by yourself, of course I was worried." I sighed and looked away. "Well, anyway. I'll get to cooking, you guys go hangout with your father. He needs your guys company."
We both nodded and quickly ran down the hallway and upstairs to see father staring at the upcoming night sky. Rikushi winning our little race.
"Father." We both stated while bowing, waiting for him to turn around and acknowledge us to only be ignored. Frusterated I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder.
"Its rude to ignore anyone who gives you respect, right?" I stated angrily. Father turns around, tears falling out of his eyes and suddenly slapping me in my face.
"Don't quickly jump to assumptions about the situation at hand, Emiko. I wasn't ignoring you. I just didn't want you guys seeing me in such a state." Father said as I held onto the cheek that burnt in pain. "I'm sorry for slapping you. I don't know what got to me. I'm just frustrated."
"That was a change in emotion." I muttered to myself. So, he was mad then instantly regret his decision to hurt me. Exactly what I expected.
"Sorry father for Emikos rudeness. I take responsibility as her older brother for not teaching such a valuable lession." I frowned and instantly stood up and bowed again.
"I'm incredibly sorry too father. I overreacted on my side as well. I promise I'll become a better person and try to analyse the situation more. Truely sorry."
"Lately, Emiko. You've been losing your temper. I'm guessing it's around that time where your trying to develop a personality." Father smiled. "Don't give in on temptations."
"I'm sorry for any actions I did dad. My temper will from now on, be well controlled." He placed his hand on my head, making me flinch. He then ruffled my hair and chuckled.
"I know I raised you to be polite but you don't have to be this polite. You guys be yourself, dont worry about forcing change to become a better person. Everyone is consistently changing, and sometimes some people just don't. So dont force change." Father stated while wiping the tears off his face.
"But-but I dont want to disappoint you dad." I looked back at Rikushi. "Rikushi is a perfect son and here I am... Uncapable of taking care of myself."
"Sweety, you are special. I talk about you with pride, alot. Along with Rikushi. Both of you are the perfect kids, at least in my eyes. And I know you two would bring each other back into the light if one strayed from the path."
After that, father lead us to his room. He continued to tell stories of the past but the one that amazed me was The White Fang of the Leaf. A true hero.
"Father, is the White Fang alive now?" He looked at me and sighed, shaking his head no.
"He in the end, killed himself. After he saved his comrades and forcing the mission to a holt cuased everyone to turn on him. Even the ones who saved him, ended up turning their backs. Leaving Kakashi behind." Wait, but he's the one who is protecting me. "Speaking of Kakashi..."
"Hmp?" Father paused for a moment and looked at me.
"I'd very much like if you'd marry him, Emiko." I continued to stare at him, my eyes widened. Why though?
"He's at least 14 years older then Emiko, father! Thats... No. Hes just a few years older then me dad... Thats just... Wrong." Rikushi stated in a rather worrisome tone. Father laughed and placed a hand on me, crossing his legs on the bed and moving closer.
"That won't be a problem once you've grown up. Me and your mother are 10 years apart, so I don't even see it as a problem. Age in the end, doesn't matter once you have the ability to give consent." I sighed and laid down.
"Father, I haven't even met the guy." I pouted. "How do you even know I'll fall in love or even if he would?"
"I was told this once, by my father. 'One of your own kids will marry a great white wolf.' I was confused since the only wolf related was the white fang and since my first born was a male... Didnt make sense. So now I assume it'll be you and Kakashi." I frowned and shook my head.
"Are you against people liking the same gender?" Father chuckled and patted Rikushi on the shoulder.
"No, I'm not. It could still be possible that he just might marry a women or man that resembles a white wolf. I'm not totally against it."
"This is dumb." I muttered. Rest of that night, we continued to eat together like a family and laughed happily. Finally, I was brought back from this darkness... But that feeling burning deep... Like I'm being watched from the inside.
