Flashback #2 and Recreation

(Gaege POV)

Y/N had gotten dressed to go and we all left the hospital. I got in the driver's seat and Y/N got in the passengers. Y/N was looking out of the window at the almost sun set. The rain was clearing but it was still raining enough to cover up. Mully and Eddie kept making jokes and we were all laughing at them. "Guys." Y/N said looking in the rear view mirror. We all looked at her and I said, "Yeah?" Y/N looks at me and smiles. "I wanted to thank you guys for saving me. I didn't say that before." She said while looking out the window again. "You're welcome." We all say at the same time. We all laughed because it sounded weird. After about 10 minutes we reached my house. The rain by now had completely cleared up and the sun set was beautiful. We all got out of the car and the guys walked in. Eddie turned to look at me and gave me a genuine smile. I return it and they close the door. Y/N sits down. I sit as well. Y/N made a little sigh. I look at her. "What's on your mind?" I ask her. She looks to me. "This is what that night looked like." After she said that, I knew exactly what she was talking about..

*Flashback. 8 years ago.*

(Your POV)

I had said goodbye to Gaege after the sun went down. We hugged goodbye and I went on my way back home. After I got home, it was pitched black since it's an hour drive. I park my car and look at my house. All the lights are off, except one. The kitchen. 'why's only the kitchen light on?' I ask myself. I go to unlock the door, but the door was cracked open.. "Mom? Dad?" I yell out. No answer. "Oh god. What is that smell?" I ask while myself while walking to the kitchen. It was worse. I open the door. I was horrified... My mom and brother shot and blood was everywhere. I look to my dad. He looked as if he were just sitting on the chair. I started crying and wiped my eyes. There was a gun on the table covered in blood and my dad's chest was drenched in blood. I screamed and ran out of the house crying. I call 911 and I could barely get out the words. I told them I saw my parents and older brother murdered. After they got there I called Gaege. He drove over in under half an hour. He sped fast because it's an hour drive. He ran to me and hugged me. I let out a cry and he just rocked me. "Shhh.." Gaege told me while holding me tight. I never wanted this hug to end.. we later found out that it wasn't just a murder... My parents were fighting when my brother walked in. My brother got in the fight as well. My dad got so fucking stressed and done with the fighting that he pulled a gun on my mom and brother... He shot them and then himself. It was a murder-suicide.

*Flashback over..*

(Gaege POV still)

I grab her and hug her. "It does." I say with a sigh. "But let's not think about that." Y/N looked at me sadly. "I'm the same age as my brother when he died. And I didn't die today." She said while looking back at the sun. "Well.. there must've been a reason." I say while holding her. "Yeah. I guess.." Y/N says defeated. While holding her, she sat up straight and looked at me. "Do you love me? Like as a friend?" She asked with a smile. I smiled at what she was doing and say, "Of course. Why would you think I don't?" I ask. "I don't know." Y/N said. "Hm." I say after a second. "If something happens, will you be there?" Y/N asks me. She looks to me in my eyes. "Like how? To rescue you or just be there?" I asked her with a smile. She looks away for a second. "Any way." She said while looking at me. I smiled. "Alright. I'll save you if you need, or I'll just be there for you." I said to her with a smile. "I love you." Y/N said. I know we are recreating that night, but her saying this now makes me really happy and I tingle. "I love you, too." I say quietly as I kissed her on the head. She put her head on my shoulder and we sat there watching the sun set..
