Why was I feeling so pissed off? I should be happy that Ayush ignored Sandhya when she recognized him, but why was I feeling uneasy?
The way her eyes sparked up when she called Ayush and asked him if he remembered her, I didn't like it. She had no problem introducing herself to him, but she always ran away without acknowledging me when I first came to this college.
She still discriminated, didn't she? For her, Ayush was the only person that mattered. Did she even consider my existence or not?
Ugh... Damn it! Why am I thinking all these absurd things? I should be grateful that nothing happened to Ayush, or else I don't know what I would have done.
"Bhaiyya!"
I snapped my head in Veer's direction, and he looked at me sadly with his mouth open. He pointed towards his mouth and then at his breakfast. My brain got the signal, and I fed him his meal. He smiled and asked me how it was going in my school.
"Did you make any friends?" he asked.
"Yup. A lot of them."
"Can I come to your school to meet them?"
I shook my head. "Small kids aren't allowed. Grow up fast, and then you can go to college yourself."
"I am not a kid. I may look small, but I am very strong." He showed his tiny bicep, making me chuckle.
I ruffled his hair, and we completed our breakfast. I took my leave and got in my car. As I drove, I switched on the radio; a smile crept up my lips as the song's lyrics drummed my ears. It was one of Mom's favorite songs, and her memories were still fresh in my mind.
🎶 Khoya khoya chand
Khula aasman
Aankhon me saari raat jaaegi~
Tumko bhi kaise neend aaegi~
Ho oh
Khoya khoya Chand
Khula aasman 🎶(Translation:-
The lost moon
The open sky
The whole night will pass in the eyes~
How will you be able to sleep?~
Oh, the lost moon
The lost sky)I whistled the tunes, other thoughts dissolving automatically. I parked my car in school's parking lot and spotted Shreyas exiting his Mustang. I called him, and we went to our classes together.
Unlike Shree, Shreyas was really quite and introverted. He was a very good singer and poet and knew how to draw too. He was one of the few people with whom Ayush had no problem hanging out as both of them shared similar personality traits and interests.
Shreyas was in Commerce department, so we parted our ways in the hallway, and the song from earlier still played in my mind. I felt good as Mom's face flashed in front of my eyes, smiling and singing along with me.
"Khoya khoya chand
Khula aasman
Aankhon me saari raat jaaegi
Tumko bhi kaise neend aaegi
Khoya khoya-""Oh, man, I am feeling so sleepy!" Sandhya yawned as she walked with her friends.
I twisted my lips as she yawned continuously and complained about not getting enough sleep. Surbhi scolded her for putting all of her weight on her, while Tanya and the rest of the girls laughed.
I waited for Sandhya to come near me so I could hit her for ruining the song I was singing with her lethargic attitude, but when I saw Tanya blush after she spotted me, I pursed my lips. As she was my classmate, I thought of talking to her myself, but Sandhya jumped up instantly and ran past me.
"Ayush! Hey, buddy. Good morning!" she yelled and planted herself in front of my best friend.
Wasn't she feeling drowsy just now? Why was she so weird?
