[THIRD POV]

"We have won the grand prize of the contest!" Kinou announces to his class, "The student council has given us our prize in this very box!"

It was the next week and class 1-4 had won the said amazing prize of the big contest. 

Class 1-4 hosted the most popular maid and butler cafe the school had ever seen, and it was so successful that pretty much every other class in all the years dropped out. 

Lots of shouting and "woo-hoo's" were heard from the class as they celebrated their winning. It was all thanks to three people that they won, Tsukishima Kei, Kageyama (Y/N), and Yamaguchi Tadashi.

And those three were the only people who didn't care about the prize.

"I bet it's going to be so lame." Kei predicted, making (Y/N) giggle.

"Maybe they are tickets to a vacation." she replies.

"Doubt it."

As Kinou opens the box that contained the prize, he pulled out a much smaller box inside of it. When he opened that as well, his expression goes from excited to disappointment.

"Pencils."

「❮ 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓮...❯」

"So the grand prize that everyone was so competitive for... were just pencils?" Sugawara asks Kei and Yamaguchi. 

"Everyone got excited for no reason."

"Tsukki couldn't stop laughing at Kinou when he got so upset."

The ultimate prize that was said to be very extraordinary turned out to be normal wooden pencils with the words "congrats on winning the contest" inscribed on it. 

Tanaka and Sugawara laughed uncontrollably when they received the news from Kei and Yamaguchi, and they weren't surprised either.

"Last year they were plastic cups."

"And the year before that were erasers."

"I wonder why they keep baiting people about it." Yamaguchi says.

"I wonder how people keep falling for it year after year." Kei adds.

Their volleyball practice was getting started; Nationals was soon and everyone was working hard with (Y/N) to master their skills. They had been very busy despite also being calm and rational.

Or so they thought. 

When the boys and the girls reached the gym, Takeda-sensei instantly ran inside to stop everyone from starting.
