by the time it is monday, jimin, his mom, and seonghwa have gotten to know each other. seonghwa is closer to jimin than jimin's mom, but he still starts to consider her as his own mom. when monday strolls around, seonghwa already has clothes to wear, since they went shopping the other day.
"i'll be driving you two to school today," jimin's mom announces as her son and seonghwa eat breakfast.
"okay," he says. "thanks, mrs. park, for breakfast."
the female smiles. "anytime, seonghwa. now hurry up, so i can take you two to school."
jimin and seonghwa nod, and jimin's mom leaves to go get ready. jimin and seonghwa stay in silence for a few seconds, before seonghwa breaks it.
"hey, jimin?"
"yeah?"
"do you have any friends?"
"um..." jimin thinks about it. to be honest, he doesn't really have friends. sure, he talks to taehyung at times, but that's it. they're just classmates that don't really talk to each other. other than that, jimin's on his own. but he also has yoongi, even though he doesn't want to think about the older right now. "not really. why?"
seonghwa sighs in relief. "'cause i thought i was going to be on my own. this is my first time at a new school, so i don't have many friends. i didn't have any at all in my old school."
"really?" jimin's a bit surprised. "you seem like the type to be very outgoing."
"i am," seonghwa agrees, and he looks down at his plate, "but my mom never allowed me to have any friends. i did have this one friend named yeosang, but my mom gave me a good beating when she found out. she forced me to leave yeosang, and i did, because i didn't want him to get hurt, too."
"i'm sorry you had to go through that, seonghwa," jimin frowns, and he reaches over to grab seonghwa's hand. "you're safe with us now."
seonghwa smiles and tears shine in his eyes. "th-thanks."
"woah, am i interrupting something?" jimin's mom chuckles as she walks back inside.
"no," jimin replies, and he softly lets go of seonghwa's hand. "i was just comforting seonghwa."
jimin's mom nods. "alright. well, hurry up, because we need to leave soon."
--
"have a good day at school, you two," jimin's mom bids as seonghwa helps jimin get out of the car.
"have a good day, too, mrs. park," seonghwa returns, bowing.
"bye, mom," jimin adds, and his mom smiles at the two of them before she drives away.
"so this is your school," seonghwa muses. "doesn't look that big."
"it's not," jimin agrees. "ready to go to class?"
"i still need to get my schedule," seonghwa reminds.
"ah, right, sorry," jimin mutters, and seonghwa giggles at him. seonghwa pushes jimin toward the office, where seonghwa explains to the secretary that he needs his schedule. as they wait for seonghwa's schedule to be printed out, a familiar male walks inside the office, handing something to the secretary.
"hey, jimin," the male greets, seeming to notice the younger, but his eyes widen as he notices jimin in the wheelchair. "oh my god, what happened to you?!"
"hey, yoongi," he returns. "i was in a car accident. i'm fine."
"here's your schedule, sweetie," the secretary says, handing the piece of paper to seonghwa.
"thanks," he tells her, before heading toward jimin. but seonghwa stops in his tracks once he sees yoongi. "um, hi."
yoongi turns at seonghwa's voice, seeming a bit surprised to see him. "who are you?"
"he's my...boyfriend," jimin lies. "ready to go, seonghwa?"
the younger seems a bit surprised that jimin introduced him as his boyfriend, but he nods. "y-yeah. let's go."
"boyfriend?" yoongi echoes. "i thought you loved me, jimin."
"i don't anymore," he grumbles, and he wheels himself out of the office, seonghwa following behind him, and leaving yoongi in shock.
