(Ryan's POV)

The sound of vomiting wakes me from the best sleep I've ever had. I scramble out of the bed and rush towards the bathroom.

I pull back Ruby's hair and rub her back soothingly as she continues to empty her stomach.

I thought morning sickness only happened early on in pregnancy. Obviously not.

I grab a tissue after helping Ruby to her feet.

"Thanks," she says weakly as I hand it to her.

"Do you want to lie down for a while?"

"Yeah, just let me brush my teeth first."

"Why don't you take a shower and I'll make us some breakfast? We can have a lazy day and just curl up on the couch."

"Can we watch movies?" she asks with a smile.

"Of course, gorgeous."

"Ryan," Ruby groans, pushing me away.

"What?" I ask, confused.

"Don't call me that."

"Why not?" I laugh.

"Well, just look at the state of me!"

"Ruby, you're perfect looking. Now," I say as she opens her mouth to protest. "Go take a shower and I'll make us both something amazing to eat."

"Fine," she pouts.

I chuckle and kiss her lips gently along with her stomach before making my way downstairs.

"Man, that smells amazing!" Matt practically moans as he enters the kitchen.

"Fuck off, Matt. This is for Ruby and I." I push him away from the stove as he attempts to steal the almost cooked bacon.

"Aww, come on, Ryan. Show some love for your best friend."

"No"

"Please," he cries out dramatically, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his head on my shoulder. "Pretty please?"

"No." I try to pry his arms from me. Man, he's got a tight grip.

"Um, is something going on between you two that I should know about?" Matt and I spin around to find Ruby giggling in the doorway.

"It's not what it looks like!" Matt cries once more, immediately releasing me and holding his hands in the air in surrender. God, he's such a drama queen.

"Sure it's not, Matt."

"Man, get lost and let us eat our breakfast," I tell him, shoving a plate of bacon and scrambled egg into his hands.

"Thank you!" He hurries back up the stairs clutching his breakfast as if his life depends on it.

"How are you feeling now?" I ask Ruby as soon as I hear Matt's door slam shut.

"Much better, thanks."

"Good." I place a plate full of food in front of her before grabbing two mugs of tea and sitting down.

Once breakfast is finished, we make our way into the living room for our movie session.

"What movie first?" I ask.

"Surprise me," Ruby replies settling down on the couch, a blanket pulled over her.

I scan the movie titles in the impressive collection in the cabinet under the TV. One particular name catches my eye.

I slide the DVD into the DVD player and climb onto the sofa beside Ruby. I wrap an arm around her waist and pull her closer to me. She places her legs across my lap and rests her head on my shoulder.
