Tay POV

I undid the knot of my apron and took it off. I clocked out and walked over to the table Jacob was sitting at. It's been a good week since our date however I kind of distanced myself from Jacob. Hear me out, as much as I enjoyed our date and craved his attention I needed my space. I didn't want to come off as clingy but I also needed time.

"You're on break now?"Jacob asked as I plopped down in the seat across from him,

"Yes and I'm so ready to just go home" I took my visor off and slicked back any flyaways with my hand.

"So I know you're probably wondering why I asked to talk," Jacob said and I nodded,

"Did I do something wrong on our date?" Jacob looked at me a bit disappointed.

"What, no, why would you think that" I raised an eyebrow,

"It's just that we haven't talked since that night and I wanted to know where we stood,"

I took in a small breath, "I just needed some space to figure out what I wanted, it's been a minute since I've laughed with someone like that and I don't know, I guess it was too much of a nostalgic vibe that it scared me" I traced the pattern of the table. The last thing I wanted Jacob to feel was that I was blowing him off or leading him on.

"Is this what you want?"

I looked up at Jacob who was looking back at me with a look of vulnerability and curiosity. Curious, of course, to know my answer, but nervous about the possibility of me giving him the answer he didn't want to receive.

"Yes" I smiled when he did and his posture noticeably changed. His shoulders fell a bit and he perked up and so did his attitude.

"That was such a relief," Jacob wiped the imaginary sweat off his forehead making me snicker.

"So Trevor was telling me that you guys had exams?"

"Yea, last week" Jacob said and took a bite of his cookie.

"how did your exams go?" I asked and Jacob shrugged,

"I honestly don't know, I feel like I did good but who knows, I've been stressed about it majority of last week"

"Now I feel shitty" I shook my head

"Why?"

"Because I didn't mean to stress you out more,"

"It's not on you, If anything you helped me relax a bit with our date so don't like blame yourself" Jacob grabbed my free hand caressing the back with his thumb.

"Too late, I'm blaming myself, and I want to make it up to you, do you wanna come over to my place later for dinner?"

"Dinner?"

"It won't be anything fancy just pizza and soda" I shrugged

"Is this your way of asking me on another date Tay, I'm quite flattered" He fanned himself making me shake my head giggling.

"So is it a yes?" I leaned my head on my fist grinning at him

"I'll be there"
