~ You Can't Avoid Me Forever ~

Malia POV

When I got back to the van pope stood up and gave me a hug to which I gladly accepted and rested my head on his shoulder 'you alright Mars? what John B said was seriously unfair' pope spoke as I stood back from the hug 'yeah I'm okay, guess he was right about the emotional thing' I shrugged with a small laugh, knowing I couldn't stay mad at Johnny.

JJ was pretending to play the drums on the van as I sat on the roof and watched pope work on his essay, helping him here and there until we heard sirens 'shit, go go' I said as we jumped down into the van and drove away from the lighthouse.

I got a phone call from the police department telling me John B had been brought in and so I jumped in the van and headed to the police station. I saw kie sat on a chair in the waiting room and John B in a room with Peterkin, I walked into the room ignoring some police officers telling me not to. 'John B you twat, what did you do now?' I said leaning against the door 'language Malia' said Peterkin who was hiding a smirk at my words. 'sorry Peterkin' I said softly as I listened to her talk to John b.

After a while we were outside talking to kie as her dad drove past and demanded she go home 'I'm sorry' she said as she got in. I sighed not in the mood to talk to John B by myself 'here. you drive home, I'm walking' I said throwing him the keys 'Marley no, we have to talk' he said grabbing my arm 'not yet' I said as my braided hair whipped out behind me, he nodded softly with a sigh and headed to the van.

I decided to go see the Cameron family 'hey Marley' I heard a male voice say and its one I wish I didn't know 'you're not allowed to call me that Rafe' I said turning around to look at him 'you know, you can't avoid me forever' he said smiling at me and I felt sick thinking about last summer.

'I can definitely try though' I said harshly 'come on Marley, it was a year ago you need to get over it' he said his face now serious. 'I am over it Rafe but that doesn't mean I want you anywhere near me, so leave me the hell alone' I said turning around and walking away, not wanting to listen to him anymore.

'hey Mr.C, is Sarah around' I asked jumping onto the boat he was on 'Hey MB, you know you can call me Ward Right?' I smiled and saluted as a yes 'she's down on the pier' I said a quick thanks and ran down to the pier and gave her a hug 'hey Marley' she said smiling and we just caught up on everything before John B came storming down 'hey John B' Sarah smiled and I was surprised they interacted but he simply walked on without even acknowledging her and I was confused 'John B what's your problem' I asked 'your secrets safe with me? well thanks to you Sarah I just got fired and it may surprise you that some people actually need a job to eat' with that he stormed off again and I looked at Sarah confused and kind of hurt.

'the scuba gear he took, I didn't tell anyone I swear Marley, I know how much you and John need the money' I looked at her and nodded slowly not knowing whether I believed her but anyway I said my goodbye and headed back to the cut. I ran to try catch up with Johnny and when I reached him he looked at me with sad eyes 'look M, I'm so sor-' but he got cut off by a car pulling up next to us. The window went down to show the 2 men who attacked us, now pointing a gun at us both.

John B grabbed my arm and we ran, I sprinted faster than I ever have before, I jumped a fence but I fell down and when I tried to get back up the man caught me and hit my head with bottom of the gun. I felt blood come down my head but wasn't about to give up 'John B go! Now' I yelled as I punched the man and then kicked him where the sun don't shine before running after John B.

We reached a dead end but as John went to jump the fence the live wire sparked and he fell back dazed. the man walked towards us and I tried to pick John B up but he was too heavy. The man came up to me and grabbed me by the throat and I whimpered from the pain. I heard sirens and have never been more grateful for Peterkin as the man let go of me and I fell to my knees only for John B to grab my hand from his place on the floor.

We were currently sat in her police car in silence as she tried to get John B to give her the compass, he turned around to look at me and I nodded softly as he passed it to her. I got out the car and hugged him tightly as he whispered apologies about everything in my ear 'its okay, I know you were upset' I said as we released from the hug, we sadly smiled at each other as we watched Peterkin drive away. 'I'm going to JJ's' I said and he simply nodded and muttered a goodbye before I headed towards his house, Pope was working and ki was busy with her family so JJ it was.

Once I arrived I knocked on the door to see a Messy haired JJ answer and smile as he saw me, although it was quickly gone as he noticed the large cut on my face. 'Lia, what the hell did you do' he asked dragging me inside. 'long story and I'm too tired to explain' I sighed whilst sitting down on his sofa, he grabbed a first aid kit and came towards me and I stood up 'no blondie I'm fine hones--' he cut me off 'sit' he said pushing me back down and I sighed in defeat. He grabbed a wipe and began cleaning my cut, I hissed in pain as he hit a tender part 'sorry' he said shyly and I waved it off.

once he had finished I thanked him and he sat down beside me and we chatted for a while until I heard a car roll up and I saw Luke stumble out. JJ noticed too 'you need to leave, he's a mess when he's like this and I don't need you seeing it' he said and I sighed 'if I'm going then you're coming with me' I said and he shook his head 'no, no... I'll handle it' he said and before I could protest he spoke up 'go Lia' and I sighed before leaving.
