Merlin climbed out his window and used the rope he built to climb down. Ever since Arthur had figured out Merlin kept leaving the tower in the middle of the night, guards had been increased so as a retaliation Merlin just jumped out the window. It was much easier then going around the guards, though they are rather stupid.

Merlin walked down the familiar cobblestone steps of his forest carful not to crunch any mushrooms as he walked. He walked along until he reached his special tree. Climbing up he grabbed a book and read on his own. The soft breeze of every gust of wind slightly flapping the old word pages of his rickety book. He sighed contently melting into his spot. No annoying prats around-

"MERLIN" Merlin sighed draping his head off the tree.

"Arthur" he called back less enthusiastic. Arthur ran over, his hands on his hips.

"How did you get out?"

"I jumped out the window"

"You what" Merlin rolled his eyes. Then jumped off the tree into the old prats arms. Arthur looked surprised at him as Merlin jumped out and grabbed his hand.

"Come on! I want to show you my favorite spot!" Arthur almost struggled to keep up with Merlins agility. Living in the forest does that to you. Pushing away some ivory a beautiful lake came into view. Arthur gasped looking around astonished.

"It's beautiful" Merlin smiled at him. He climbed up a tree grabbing some old worn pillows.

"Brought these back from your chambers" Arthur frowned at him.

"Your the one who stole my pillows"

"I left a pile of money in your shoe"

"That's not how it works merlin"

"Morgana said it was fine" A look of annoyance crossed Arthur's face.

"Of course sure did" Merlin smiled at him, bringing a small basket of bread out.

"Let me guess, you 'bought' these as well"

"No I stole them"

"Merlin" Merlin laughed and threw the stray third one at him. It hit Arthur square in the face.

"You dare hit me with a pillow?" Arthur teased.

"It's not my fault you make it so easy" arthur rolled his eyes.

"I do not!" He said indulgently

"Yes you do you dollophead!" Merlin laughed. Arthur pulled a face.

"Dollophead? That's not a real word" Merlin smiled.

"Yes it is" Arthur frowned, not really knowing if merlin was being serious.

"What does it mean then" he raised a eyebrow.

"In 2 words?" Arthur nodded.

"King Arthur" Arthur gasped and was about to throw a piece of bread at him when the water rippled. Arthur immediately stood in front of a calm Merlin defensive.

"What was that" he said more to himself, still he got a answer.

"Oh that was freya" Arthur lowered his sword.

"That was who?"

"Freya my friend!" Arthur skeptically eyed the water. To be fair, Merlin often made friends with the most dangerous of animals. The animals often not reciprocating the same loving feelings they showed him. Merlin walked up to the water and waved. A flower floating up. Arthur couldn't help but be the tiniest bit jealous... of a lake.
