(16) Arrival

Reader POV

I slunk into the bathtub with Atsumu behind me.

He was laying kisses along my back.

"Atsumu?" I whispered.

"Hm?"

I looked down at my reflection and saw his marks. "Why did you do it?"

"Did what?"

"Why did you kill Akagi?"

He scowled. "He was in the way of us."

"But Atsumu, I only saw him as a best friend."

"I could've lost you to him."

No, you lost me to yourself.

"Atsumu, I've never liked Akagi like I loved you."

"Loved...?"

I nodded. "You scare me, Atsumu."

The blonde sighed. "I never wanted to scare you, (y/n)."

I fell silent and we both just sat there.

The sounds of water splashing alerted me that he was moving, then I felt his arms around me.

"Shit. Baby girl, I never meant to scare you..."

Bullshit.

You fucking beat me up and carved your name onto my back.

"Hey, how about this. Let's have an easy week. Spring break is this week, so I'll be chilling out. Well, it actually starts in two days, but you know what I mean."

I nodded slowly. "Can I go home?"

"No. Your home is here now. But don't worry, I'll get you girly things and all that shit."

"Okay..."

I wasn't happy, but I just had to make the best out of this situation.

Gain his trust then get the fuck out.

He carried me out of the bathtub and handed me my bra and panties from the other day since he did laundry this morning before he left.

"Here."

A gray sweater hit my face along with some shorts.

I pulled the sweater over the shirt he gave me and finished getting dressed.

"Atsumu, can I at least go to school? I'm sure Rintarou will be worried about me."

He shook his head. "Sorry, (n/n). But you can't go back. In fact, we're going to go away when the time is right."

"Where would we go?" I asked. "To another part of the city?"

Atsumu shook his head and picked me up from his bed. "No. I was thinking somewhere far away- like maybe Hokkaido."

HELL NO.

"Hokkaido?"

"Yeah...don't you remember when we were kids? We'd talk about going there when we were older..."

Flashback

"You're so weird!!" Atsumu stuck his tongue at me.

I shrugged. "What's wrong with marrying me? You said you wanted to marry me one day,"

"Yeah, but I didn't think you'd actually say yes!"

I giggled and tackled him into a hug. "You say I'm weird, but you're weirder!"

"Shut up!" He grabbed my hand and and dragged me out to the bridge. "Look."

I looked.

"See that island in the far distance?" He said. "I want to take us there one day."

"Isn't that Hokkaido?"

He nodded. "Yeah. When I marry you one day, I want to be there and have a family there. You'll be their Mommy and I'll be their Daddy."

"Really?"

The dark-haired male nodded. "Mmhm. And when that day comes, we'll be so happy."

End of flashback

"Atsumu, did you really take the things we said as kids seriously?"

He nodded. "How can you not?"

"I don't know."

Fuck.

"Okay. Well, I'm hungry, and I'm sure you are as well. After all, every time we have sex, you're dehydrated and hungry. What are you in the mood to eat?"

I shrugged. "I've got no preference."

"Okay." He carried me downstairs and set me down on the kitchen table. "The door is locked, and don't even bother trying to get out."

Fuck you.

"Fine. I want to eat anyway."

Atsumu placed his hand on my head. "I know. I'll make us some onigiri or something like that. There's meat sauce for dipping."

He laid some dino chicken nuggets out for me after cooking them up.

I started to eat them, noticing the weird metallic taste in the sauce. "Hey, Atsumu? Did you put anything into the sauce?"

"Nah. That's just some leftovers from when Samu made it about two days ago."

I shrugged and continued to eat it. "Okay."

Rintarou POV

"(y/n)'s still not home?" Felix asked.

"No," Dad said. "She hasn't been answering her phone and Rin said she wasn't at school today."

Mom shrugged. "Maybe she had a field trip."

"No. Otherwise, Skyrin would've told me," I said. "She and (y/n) are in the same classes."

"Where is she?"

"Hell if I know."

Felix looked unhappy. "It's a shame she's not here."

"Yes. How's college?"

"Great. We're supposed to head over to NASA in the states for an internship."

I looked at my cousin. "Aren't they about to launch a new mission?"

"Hell yeah! We're working on the dynamics of it- like the physical aspects. I think we're doing it at the Kennedy Space Center, but I could be wrong."

"Wow, that's actually really cool!"

Dad glanced at the ginger-haired half-Korean. "You never told us why you decided to come here so quickly."

Felix's happy face dropped. "We found evidence that suggests who my mother's killer is."

"Who is it?"

He shook his head. "I can't disclose who then suspects are, but I have a feeling they're going to be arrested soon." He glanced at the stormy sky and across to the Miya residence, where the kitchen light was on behind bamboo curtains. "Or at least, I hope so."
