She stared at the couple for a minute and did something she never did before, wonder what they did and who they pissed off. She never gave a crap about the target because that’s the way they trained her, distance yourself. Keep it in your head of no emotion and that was exactly what their family was some emotionless killers.
The target and his wife lie there with two clean cuts to the throat blood slowly oozing from the wounds. She wasn’t a messy person but it was quick and easy and if you did it right you wouldn’t get a drop on you. Max took care of the wife while she got the husband, they never even seen them coming. They ran sacked the house and took a load of things to make sure it looked like no more than a robbery gone bad, that’s what they did, made things simple so the police would investigate on one angle.
Max played the part of the new paper boy that’s how they were able to watch without being noticed.
The sweat dripped off her face vigorously than it usually did, this was the first time her and her younger brother Max executed a target alone. They made them train harder, and then they insert themselves into their lives. It’s the best way to pull off a perfect assassination.
They I’m referring to are a group of skilled assassins called the Connectors.
Raven Mayhem is her name she’s 17 years old and has been an assassin since she was born but started training with the Connectors when she was a mere 5 yrs. old. Once a member of your family falls into this group the other members have no choice. Really it’s for your safety because if any other assassins knew who you were and you weren’t trained well kiss your life goodbye.
Raven walked into the house with her head low thinking about two years ago when her and her little brother Max pulled off their first assassination alone, she was 15 and he was 12 he showed no fear and emotion and Raven know it was the way they were trained and raised but after years of killing something in her felt remorse, but she dare not show it or tell anyone because it could get her and her family killed. The Connectors took pride in training soulless killers and that’s exactly what she was going to be. Since then their families’ body count has been most impressive.
Merric Mayhem her father comes from a long line of assassins, his father, and his father before him and so on, and so on. Nothing about their family was normal; the children don’t attend school because they move too much. Sometimes it’s across the world and other times it’s just across town. The Connectors make sure every child is home schooled then they are sent to the main building for extensive combat training that should be complete by your 12th birthday and only then is when you are a full assassin.
Raven’s thoughts were interrupted by her mother’s voice, “Raven you are to report to central office.”
Usually when central office calls it’s an important assignment as they usually send your assignment via home software, Rave had just completed an assignment two nights ago. The Connectors usually give you a week in between hits to make sure it’s died down as well as the task at hand was completed efficiently.
“Mom I just got back from the last one,” she shrieked.
Raven didn’t argue with her mom but she had to realize this was awfully quick.
“Don’t look at me orders are orders,” she scolded.
She was right though no one ever turned down a job from The Connectors, really you couldn’t, and they weren’t the type of take no for an answer people.
Raven took her cell phone out her back pocket and realized she had 3 missed calls from them. It had to be important.
Raven knew they didn’t like to be kept waiting but she was in need of a shower from her last mission and the long ride home.
