Part 1

"Queen can you come down here"my mom shouted from the living room.I had officially graduated yesterday at the top of my class with a 4.0.
"Coming" I shouted forcing myself off my bed and dragging myself to the living room. I stopped in front of my mom, she handed me an envelope, my eyes widened it was my response. I brung the letter to my heart and began mumbling a small prayer before opening it. I ripped the envelope open to make sure not to rip the letter inside, then began reading the letter.
"We would like inform you that you have been accepted into our university and have been given the dance scholarship, we've seen your impressive dance resume and are looking forward to having you represent our university" ,I practically yelled, jumping up and down.
"I can't believe I got in,I'm going to China".I said running around like the Tasmanian devil 😈.

"How does it feel knowing you are going to be going to school in China?"My mom said

"It feels really good knowing I'm going back"I said

"I am very proud of you baby"She said

"Thank you mom, I just can't believe I was chosen over hundreds of kids must've applied, no thousands but lil ol me got into Minge De University"I said feeling touched

"Well since you are going to be going to China in August then me and you need to do a lot of mother daughter bonding before you leave" She said smiling lovingly🥰

"Of course I know mom"I said

Me and my mom were especially close, when my dad died. I had the most hard working, perfect, loving, and caring my mom on the planet, the fact she is letting me travel across the whole world to another continent just to further my studies in a culture I'm interested in says it all.

"What do you think my host family is going to be like,hopefully I'll get a brother or sister."I said

"Hopefully they are nice because would hate come to China to cuss someone out."She said,I laughed

"I hope you find a rich, handsome boy while you are over there" She said

"Mom ism not going over their to date, I'm going down there further my knowledge."I said

"Who said he for you,when I say bring him back I mean for me."She said winking which caused me to laugh.My mom is really something.

Over the course of July I bought as many products and clothes as possible , I didn't expect China to cater to my ethnic needs, I brought 10 liquid foundations and councilors hoping they should last me a the year.  10 jars of eco styler gel, which I believe should last me the year since I only use it for my edges. 4-6 bottles of coconut butter,7 leave in conditioners, including curl soufflé. I believe if I did run out of anything my mom would send it.

I wouldn't be seeing my family constantly till after University, which would be in 4 years. I've never been apart from my family more than day let alone the next 4 years.

I was absolutely sure this is what I wanted,I've always wanted to go back to Chine to immerse myself into the fashion, food, culture, and tradition ever since we had stay here for a couple of years. I wasn't having second thoughts I just never really went more than a day away from my mom, we had Skype and I am sure I'll fly down at least once a year to visit her, but all that space in between lol those miles.

Which is another reason I should make her proud,I'll be top of my classes down there, I'll graduate salutatorian I'll make every mile count. I eyed all the products I'd purchase over the recent weeks, I'd Skyped my host family so I knew what they looked like, I even had a chat with my Chinese sister, my Chinese step mom and father they seemed pretty cool even offered to teach me how to cook Chinese meals once I get their, everything was set in stone for my arrival. The only thing left was for me to do my part. Being top of my class was a piece of cake but being top one percent of the one percent that may prove a bit more difficult task.

My flight for China oils be tonight and I was sure I packed everything necessary an everything unnecessary as well.
