An hour before dawn, they were driving back down the mountain, him blind folded. Natch.
But he was happy.
He had met the people who mattered the most to his sister and learned how much they cared for her. All of them, not just Rhage and Mary. Even the Doggen were crazy about her.
And then there was Janie.
Damn.
That female was amazing.
He had only spoken to her alone for about two minutes if that, but damn, he could absolutely not wait to speak to her again. She was sassy, smart mouthed and sexy as sin. He grinned as he remembered.
-*-*-
- Hello Janie.
- Hiya Blaxie.
He raised a brow, choosing to ignore her way of greeting him.
- Your hair is beautiful. You look…
She looked at him pointedly before rolling her eyes.
- Wow. Does that line actually work for you? “Your hair is really beautiful.”
She barked out a laugh.
- I bet the females just line up and melt at your feet in a puddle of desire, huh.
She actually snorted.
- My hair is beautiful… Pssss. You are so lucky my dad didn’t hear that. He would so kick your ass. Or laugh in your face. Yeah, probably that.
She patted his shoulder as he just looked at her in amazement.
- See ya later Blaxie, you Casanova heartbreaking male, you.
-*-*-
Just like that, she was gone, leaving him absolutely dumbfounded. She had him grinning like an idiot and harder than a tree trunk.
The car finally stopped and he took of his blindfold, blinking to get adjusted to the dim light around him. They got out and he hugged Mariah.
- I had a great time sister mine. Thank you for inviting me.
- Thank you for coming. And thanks for the bracelet. I love it. Oh and thanks for putting up with all the drama.
- Every good family has some drama. Don’t worry. I love it.
- And they will love you, I know it. They just need some time.
- Which we’ve got plenty of. Don’t worry sis. It will all be fine.
He kissed her forehead before giving her a hug. He ignored Ahgony’s soft growl. The male was bonded. He just couldn’t help himself.
- We’ll meet again soon ok? Now go on, get yourself home.
- Drive safe?
- Always.
He said goodbye to Darius with his hand and got in as he watched them dematerialize to somewhere up the mountain.
Time to get himself back home.

Mariah felt a wave of nausea hit her as they dematerialized back at the mansion and she frowned. She kinda felt like she had in that Starbucks when she first met Blaxton. Weird. It had only been a week since she had fed, so she knew it wasn’t that. And she had been eating as normal, so that couldn’t be either. Although, she had pigged out a bit tonight due to it being her party and all. Though never had anyone gotten sick from something the Doggen had made. The king only had the best of the best.
