Hours of cleaning and packing made her look worse for wear, for the first hour all she did was sit and cry until she felt better. There were boxes stacked on top of each other, empty rooms and an almost empty living room; she hated it. The last things to pack up were all the photos, she sat on the couch and glared at the frames from across the room; there they sat waiting to be placed in a box where they could start gathering dust.
Y/N leaned her head back and stared up at the ceiling, she observed every crack and discolouration and tried her best to think of something else, drag herself out of the dark corner and make herself look better than she felt. If she was able to do that then she could finally face her students in at least three days, that was her limit, she was giving herself three days to force everything into another area.
There the girl sat for 15 minutes until the doorbell rang, she pulled herself up and ran her hands through her hair, she walked towards the door and didn't hesitate to pull it open without checking to see who it was. She was met face-to-face with the eraser hero, she wasn't sure what time it was but right now there was really no point in finding out.
"You look like shit." He said. In his hand was a plastic bag, probably more food and drinks.
"At least I look better than you, dry-eye." She grabbed the bag from his hands and let him. Onigiri and beer, perfect.
The eraser hero closed the door behind him, his eyes darted around the room and onto the boxes that sat on one side. He quickly turned to look at Y/N and understood immediately what was happening, this wasn't her house after all. She didn't need to drink, she needed to take a break.
As the girl excitedly grabbed a can, he pulled it out of her hand and placed it back in the bag, "Hey! You can't have both of them!" The h/c-haired girl whined, her eyes glared holes through his.
"I won't, but you won't be drinking them tonight. Or tomorrow night for that matter," Aizawa refused to let her drink, she didn't need it, she wasn't going to need it at all. "Listen, Y/N, if you're going to drink, do it when you're not like... this."
Y/N clicked her tongue and let go of the bag, he put the bag where she couldn't reach and looked her in the eye. The look on her face brought back a lot of buried memories, when was the last time he saw her like this?
His hands moved to grab her waist and pull her close, her back facing his chest. He grabbed the ribbon tied around her wrist and gently ran his fingers through her hair, I can't remember the last time we were like this, he thought. Or maybe I don't want to remember.
A shiver ran down her spine, there was no complaining when it came to Aizawa. Even if she tried to get a drink she would've had it knocked out of her hand before she could take a sip. She knew how she was when drunk, what she didn't know was how bad it could get, "Can't I have a sip?" she asked.
The hero let out a tired groan, "You shouldn't drink when you're depressed, believe me, your kidneys might thank you."
"Will they really?"
"Don't start."
"Fine."
They sat in silence, he had tied her hair up into a neat bun leaving the back of her neck exposed to the cool air. With a simple blow, another shiver went down her spine and whining from her lips.
Y/N stood up and thanked him, not daring to turn around and reveal the bright red that dusted her cheeks. She hated every second of this, there was usually something going on like a robbery or a chase on building tops. The awkward air was overwhelming, Why can't he just leave me alone!? Her thoughts screamed, I haven't even taken a bath!!!
The h/c haired girl turned and grabbed him by his shoulders, he looked up at her confused but wasn't able to ask any questions because she had begun to shake him.
"Y-Y/N!!" His hands moved to her shoulders and the shaking stopped, "I don't know what you want to say but how about you take a deep breath."
Her brows knit together in frustration but she did as told, for some strange reason it really helped her feel just a little better.
