the day finally came. it was boreum's 13th birthday. she had waited long, wanting to find a true love and grow old together.
boreum was a romantic; a hopeless one. all she ever thought about was soulmates. love, love, love - everything was about love to her. imagining perfect dates, hangouts, cuddling with the signifant other; those were the things that made her happy.
she was now finally 13. she got up from the bed, feeling positive. "finally. maybe some of those silly fantasies will come true." to wish upon a dream was like hoping for a star to fall into your arms. and she was willing to pull one down if it meant her dreams coming true.
her birthday had only a few people invited. she never liked big celebrations. besides, why would she share her cake with people she hasn't met in months ? the party went by fast, the guests started leaving, until it was just her, cleaning up. while washing the plates, she heard a rustle coming from outside the kitchen window.
