MR LIU leaned against his seat, eyeing the boy in front of him who was busy fiddling with his fingers.
"Let me ask this again. " The principal is now leaned closer to the table as he tried to make an eye contact with the boy in front of him. He even emphasized the word 'this' just to reconfirm everything.
"Are you sure you want to drop school? " The boy took awhile before he let out a sigh from his mouth and nodded at the principal's statement.
"Look Kun- Okay. Let's drop the formalities away. You're like a son to me. All four of you guys are like sons to me. I won't let this happen! Especially when you are a student with potentials. I get it you're kind of.. Having a hard time but does-"
"Mr Liu. " The boy cut the principal off as he finally got the courage to look at the principal in the eyes.
"Thank you. " He smiled, showing his dimples as he tried his best to fight with the pool of tears in his eyes.
"I'll be fine. Besides, " He looked down at his hands on his lap and continue.
"It's all for Nǎinai (grandma). " He said as he got up from the seat. He bowed respectfully to the principal and quickly leave the room.
First, he doesn't want to hear any more suggestions about 'how to work things out' from Mr Liu as the principal knows him very well when it comes to education.
He does love to study. Qian Kun is very passionate when it comes to study. It's not like the table has turned.
Like what he explained to Mr Liu; it is best for him to quit because school creates financial problems for his family as they're not very wealthy.
Second, he can't let Mr Liu see the tears that were brimming in his eyes.
Not only Mr Liu, but also everyone else.
"Eh, Kun-ge! " Upon hearing his friend- Dejun's voice Kun quickly wiped the tears away before he turned to look at Dejun with a smile.
Kun's smile became wider as he saw his friends were running toward him.
