Chapter Five

SICHENG let out sigh for the umpteenth time as he is standing by the railings of the hospital's rooftop.

Dejun is still in the operation theater he thinks- since Yangyang haven't give him a call yet.

He looks down on to the busy road as his hand make its way to his parted lips before he took a deep breath from the stick between his index finger and middle finger.

He let out the smoke from his mouth as his mind plays the situation at Dejun's house hours ago over and over again.

He still can't believe on what happened since Dejun never tells neither of them about his family situation. He would always be the one who listens to every story about their families from Kun's little brother Hao and his grandma either Guanheng's long lost siblings or Yangyang's family to Sicheng's himself.

Sicheng feels bad about what had happened to the poor boy.

He was having dinner with his parents when Dejun sent the text. He figured out that Dejun was in danger from the way he typed the message and ran out of the house. Completely ignoring his parents' calls.

Sicheng's phone ring and it snaps him out of his thoughts. He doesn't bother to look at the caller ID as he throws the cigarette on the floor before step on it.

He walks to the exit door and answers the phone on it's fifth rings.

"I'm on my way. "

"Guys. " Everyone in the room stand up as soon as the boy enter the room. Everyone is there. Guanheng along with Kun, Yangyang and his cousin- Ten.

There is also Dejun, lying unconscious on the bed with a long tube connecting the IV drip and the heart rate machine.

A knock from the door gathered all six of their attentions. It was the Doctor who is in charge of Dejun- Sicheng's very own father.

"Doctor Dong, how's Dejun?" Kun asks as the doctor got beside Sicheng. He flashes them a reassuring smile as he throws his arm over Sicheng's shoulder, making the boy tense.

"Uncle is fine, Kun. It's not like I don't know you guys. " He says along with chuckles before cleared his throat.

"Dejun is fine. Thank God the cut wasn't that deep. But he did lost a lot of blood- don't worry about that. As soon as he woke up, the hospital will provide him with foods that can help him to build the new hemoglobin cells. " Doctor Dong explains as the boys let out a relief sigh.

"And about his parents..,"

The atmosphere becomes dull as everyone pay their attention to Doctor Dong. Doctor Dong however let out a heavy sigh as he continued.

"We couldn't find his brother, and the corpses should be claim by the family. So, we don't have any other choice but to wait for Dejun to finally recovers. "

The boys stay silent for a few minutes. What do you expect from bunch of teenagers? They are all helpless and hopeless teenagers after all.

"It's okay boys. I'll try my best to help out whatever I can help with. "Doctor Dong reassures all of them and surprisingly lifted up the mood.

"Thank you Uncle. " all of them says in unison except for Sicheng who stays silent from the moment his father threw an arm over his shoulder.

He somehow feels awkward when his father did that since he is not a fan of skin ship. So he just stand there, stiff and tense.

He is also not very fond to his own parents, let alone his father. Both of his parents are well-known specialist and surgeon in China which make them busy and rarely spend time with him.

Also the reason why he is very distance to them.

"I'll get going now. I'm on call at the emergency ward. If you guys need anything, you know where to find me. "He excuses himself as he walked out of the room but stop in his track.

"Sicheng, I wish to have a few words with you. " Sicheng's eyes are definitely went wide upon hearing his name. He coughs the nervousness away and go after his father.

As soon as they stand far away from people, Doctor Dong breaks the ice.

"You're reek of cigarettes. "
