C h a p t e r T e n
[The Final Chapter]

"Y/n is everything okay, you seem really, well- just not yourself" Her soft caring voice says to me as I try to act as calm as I can but can't manage to hold back the tears once I've started talking "Do you love her?"
"I- What are you on about?"
"Do you still have feelings for her!!" I say, less calmly and quite loud but not shouting
"Okay, alright calm down baby, who- who are we talking about??"
"Invidia"
"In-Invidia? We're good friends, there- there was nothing between us, I promise." She says as the words broke my heart, she had just lied to me. I had proof that she and Invidia were something. And she refused it. "Hey baby, I'm right here, you- you mentioned Invidia this morning, has she done something to you-"
"No! It's not her, it's you. You lied to me! You told there was nothing-"
"There is nothing!!"
"Then how do you explain this!" I said, tears coming out of my eyes s I held up my phone with a screenshot of Maihuas comment on Invidias post.
"Baby-"
"No- you lied to me!"
"Please, let me just-"
"No! Don't touch me!"
"I-"
"Just stay away from me!" I shouted at her while she stood, shaken and slightly shocked too, she didn't know what to do, so she stood there, looking for words. "Go away!" I had added, "I don't ever want to see you again!" I then said, which broke her out into tears, which she tried to hold back but failed. I'm not going to lie, it hurt me to say that. It hurt me to say words I knew would hurt her. And it hurt even more to see her reaction.

"Y/n, it's been two weeks now. You can't keep ignoring her." Gaonha said.

"I know, I know I just, I don't know what to say."

"Anything, whatever you say, she'll be happy. She just wants to hear your voice and be able to talk to you. You asked for space and she's given you space but you can't keep this going on forever. You have to face her eventually."

There was a pause before I carried on, "What if I don't want to." I said, looking out the car window as Gaonha turned into a street and parked up. "What- what are you doing?" I asked as she simply just turned to me. "She loves you. What she had with Invidia was nothing compared to what you guys have. It was merely a fling. They- they never went on any dates, they never kissed in front of other people or even acted as couple in front of others. They were simply just someone to hook up with to each other. But you- she shows you off everywhere. Holding your hand, to show that you are hers. She is so protective of you that if anyone ever laid a hand on you than she would make them regret it and make sure that they won't do it again. She... She cares for you so much, she would throw her whole life away for you. You have no idea how lucky you are to have been with her."

"Fine." I said faintly "I'll talk to her." I said, my eyes watering up but I try and hold it in.

"Look I-"

"No, no, honestly, the truth is is that I-" I pause, not wanting to admit it but I do

"... I miss her." I said as Gaonha pulled me straight into a hug.

I wake up at my dads, my eyes feeling dry as get up to get ready for the day. I stroll downstairs to the kitchen to make myself breakfast. As I approach the fridge, I see a poster on it. The one from the café about the singing competition thing in the local bar. It's tonight. I think about and then take my phone to message Gaonha. As my phone turned on, it read 2:48pm. Well I guess I better get ready if its at 5pm. I didn't have long. As well as not practising, I'm not going to do great but at least its something to do. I root through my wardrobe and pull out an outfit I think would suit the occasion. But then I hesitate. It's the dress I wore on my first date with Maihua. I guess It'll just have to do. I then quickly straighten my hair and put make up on. By the time I've done all this its already 4:15 and I phone Gaonha to pick me up.

I stood at the side of the stage, my heart pounding in my chest and butterflies in my stomach. I'm not going to lie, I was terrified. I start biting my nails ad the person before me is getting to the end of the song. She finishes and the crowd cheers. She takes a bow and blows out kisses to everyone. She starts to walk off, coming in my direction as my breathing becomes a lot heavier. I then hear my name get called out "Y/n l/n, singing 'Heather' by Conan Gray!" I hear and my hands start shaking like crazy. I try and take a deep breath and walk on. I don't look at the audience. I can't. I just look straight ahead. The music comes on and I start counting in my head. The que comes and I start to sing "I still remember, the 3rd of December, me in your sweater..." My heart is hieveing in my chest and I just see Maihua walk into the bar. She sees me and our eyes meet. I tell myself not to get distracted as I'm in front of a crowd. I get to the chorus of the song while looking at Maihua. "But I watch your eyes as she walks by, what a sight for sore eyes. She's got you mesmerized while I, die. Why would you ever kiss me, I'm not even half as pretty..." I sing the song, but it feels more as if I'm telling her how I feel and my point of view from things. My eyes start watering up but I try my best to hold it back as I don't want to start crying in front of an audience.

I got to the end of the song and sang the last words "Wish I were Heather." while looking at Maihua and she could tell I was saying Invidia in my head. She could see that I have been hurt by her. And I could see that I hurt her. The crowd start cheering me as I bowed and walked off stage. I go up to the bar which is where Maihua was stood watching me sing. I couldn't see her but I sit down anyway. Then I hear her "You did a great job." Her voice sounds nice to hear, I missed her so much. I look to her "I love you." I say, my eyes watering up once more.

"I love you too" she says as we both crash into a hug and hang on to each other. As if we never want to let go. Ever.

And I also want to say that I'm sorry for ending it like this, I know it's a bit weird and a bit rushed lol but at least the story is finished.
I just wanted to finish it for you guys as I know that if I carried on I would never have finished it so at least this way, it's got an ending.
