Got some important stuff to tell you guys at the end! but in the meantime...enjoy this chapter!!! xx i hope you all enjoy this! i made it long!!!:D
“We’re leaving for London tomorrow.”
Those were the five words I had dreaded hearing ever since I’d been with the boys.
A day had passed since our wee tour of Dunedin, and during that time I’d gotten closer with the boys, and them leaving seemed like some inevitable dreaded moment. I knew it was going to come, but that didn’t stop me from feeling like a chunk of my heart had been taken out.
“Well then, I’m going to have to find myself a job, aren’t I?” I chuckle, trying to make the situation a little lighthearted, so the boys wont suspect how emotionally stressed and upset I am right now.
“Probably, don’t worry, your an amazing girl! And the boys and I have paid for you to stay at this hotel for a bit longer, until you get enough income to rent a flat.” Says Liam.
“Thats so sweet of you guys, I can’t thank you enough, and I’ll work hard so that you don’t have to pay for my accommodation much longer.” I say to them, smiling.
“Lads, shall we get packing then?” Liam asks the rest of the boys and they all nod sullenly.
“You guys go ahead, I’ll catch a taxi to town and see if there are any retail positions available or something.” I say to them, then grab my tote bag and head out my suites door before they can reply. Time to get a job.
I head outside the hotel and hop into one of the taxis waiting outside.
“Can you take me to Wall Street Mall please?” I ask the taxi driver and he nods once before pulling out of his park to drive the fifteen minute drive to the center city. I sit patiently in the back, staring out at the side of the road, thinking of places I could get a job, luckily it’s mid October so shops will be looking for people to employ for the holidays as they can get pretty busy.
Soon enough the taxi pulls up outside of Wall Street mall and I pay him and step out of the taxi.
Wow, I never thought I’d be looking for a proper job so soon, I never thought I would be twenty after all.
I stride into the mall and look around at the shops, none seem to want new employees yet...but then I see it. What a stroke of luck. I quicken up my pace and my red high heels click against the ground at a fast beat. Forever New, I had taken the boys to one of the stores in Wellington, and luckily there was a store in Dunedin. Soon enough I’m inside of one of my favorite shops heading up to the counter.
“Hello, how can I help?” a pretty girl with long brown hair asks me.
“I’d like to apply for the position at your shop.” I say, and flash her a smile.
“Oh, sure! The applications close today, so you are in luck.” She replies.
“Phew! Can I fill out the form here?” I ask.
“Of course! Here.” She says, passing me a few sheets and a pen which I take and begin quickly scribbling information on. It’s a little hard to fill out because I hadn’t had as much work experience as most girls my age, seeing as I’ve skipped five years of my life, but it’ll have to do.
“Thanks, we’ll get back to you tomorrow to let you know if you have gotten the job or not.” The girl says to me and I thank her and head out into the mall again.
Hopefully I’ll get the job, but in the meantime I might as well get something for the boys with the limited money I have, as a thank you to them. I decide food is the best choice and head into Starbucks and purchase six iced-chocolates, then I’m back in a taxi heading to the hotel.
“Aria! Why did you leave so quickly?” Louis asks as I re-enter my suite.
“I had to go and find a job! I couldn’t let it wait, and luckily there was a position available at Forever New, so I applied and they’ll call me tomorrow to let me know if I’ve gotten it, also, here.” I say to Louis, handing him a drink.
“I smell something yummy!” chuckles Niall, entering the lounge.
“Hey Niall, yup, your senses were correct! Here you go.” I giggle, giving Niall a drink.
“I’m gonna head next door to give the other three their drinks, I’ll be back in a second.” I say to the two of them and they both nod, too busy drinking. I head out the door and knock a few times on the neighboring room.
“Oh hey Aria!” says Harry, opening the door to let me come in.
“Hey, I’ve got drinks for all of you guys, also I applied for a job and hopefully I’ll get it.” I say as I enter their lounge.
“Awesome! Thanks Aria!” says Zayn, as Harry, Liam and him proceed to take their drinks from me.
“Ok, I’ll see you guys soon I guess, but I should probably head back to my own suite now.” I say to them as they begin to drink. Then I’m out the door and back into my own suite once again.
“So, our flight leaves tomorrow morning, so we should probably have a wee goodbye party tonight.” Says Niall as he sips his drink on the couch, Louis and I are sitting on the opposite couch, at separate ends though.
“Sounds like a good idea, what should we do?” I reply.
“Well knowing you it has to be something non-cliché, so how about we go and count the cars that pass us on the street as we sit on the sidewalk eating pears?” suggests Louis and I crack up.
“No, thats taking it too far. How about we just go out to dinner instead.” I say, and the boys both nod agreeing with my idea.
“Ok, I’ll choose the restaurant though.” Says Louis, “Now Niall you go tell the other boys whats happening and to get ready and Aria you can go get ready if you want.”
“Sure, shall we all meet back here ready to go at five?” I ask and Louis nods.
“See you guys soon.” I say, racing off to my hotel bedroom to get changed.
I shut the bedroom door quickly behind me and turn to look at my suitcase, what to wear...
The boys have brought me many things up in Wellington, so luckily I have some dresses to choose from. I pull three out of my suitcase and lay them out on the bed, there is a light floaty lemon dress, a fitted black dress and finally a navy blue sailors dress. After a few minutes of enie menie minie mo, and other games of the sort, I’ve chosen my dress. The beautiful sailors one I was brought in Forever New up in Wellington. I still have no idea who chose that dress, I’ll have to ask tonight.
I take a quick shower and use the tropical shampoo the hotel has provided and then slip into my dress.
I smile at myself in the huge bathroom mirror and do a quick spin, loving how the skirt of the dress flares out. Then I get straight onto hair and makeup.
“Hmm, what should I do...” I mutter, pulling out my makeup bag, luckily I had taken a lot of makeup up to the concert so I still had a good supply. After I cover my face in a light foundation, I decide to go with a pallet of soft blues and silvers with a hint of white in the corner, then I grab my black art-liner and go around my eye lid, creating an even black line with a tiny flick at the end. Next I cover my eyelashes with my favorite baby-doll mascara. Finally I grab a soft pink lip gloss and put it on my lips.
Phew.
Now for hair. I stick it up in a pretty coiled bun and leave a few strands loose to give a loose curl too. And when all that is done I head back into my bedroom to grab the pair of matching navy blue heels I had.
I decide to check my iPhone clock and gasp as I see that it’s one minute to five.
“Shoot.” I mutter, and grab my phone and lip-gloss, stuffing them inside a clutch, then I grab my scarf and trench coat (I’d washed and cleaned if after my wee bath in the sea with it) and dash into the lounge.
“Sorry!” I gasp, skidding to a stop on the carpet, trying to catch myself as I teeter on my heels.
Once I’ve straightened up I look over at Louis and Niall who are now standing in front of me.
I smile at the two of them as they remain silent, awkward.
“Uh, shall we get going then?” I ask, and they both nod.
The three of us head out of the suite and find Zayn, Liam and Harry in a limo outside the hotel.
“Damn, Aria! You look amazing!” remarks Harry as I enter the limo, Niall and Louis behind me.
“Why thank you!” I say, taking a seat next to Harry. “Your the first person thats said that to me.”
“All good. Seems I’m nicer than someone over there.” He chuckles, looking over his shoulder. I turn to see what he’s looking at and find a sour faced Louis at the back of the limo with Niall.
“Aww, Harry, you meanie, but it’s true, Niall and Louis haven’t spoken to me since I’ve seen them.” I laugh, as the limo starts to head off to the restaurant. I wonder which one Louis chose.
The six of us keep up a casual conversation as we drive, but all throughout the ride it seems like there is something bugging Louis.
Ugh, we’d been getting along so well the past few days, and I can’t bear to have him like this on the last night I’ll be with him.
Halfway though the ride Niall coughs loudly and we all turn to look at him.
“My friend here...” he says, elbowing Louis, “Has something he’d like to say.”
We all look at Louis expectantly, and he stares daggers at Niall before turning to look straight at me.
Oh no...I hope this isn’t bad.
“I’d just like to say, that Aria, you look stunning tonight, and I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before, but thats because I was a little speechless, sorry, yeah thats all.” Louis says, smiling a little at the end, happy to get it off his chest.
“Aww, thanks!” I say to him, and give him a sweet smile to let him know that I really appreciated his compliment. By now we are outside the restaurant and we all step out of the limo to see which restaurant Louis had picked.
“Ohh! I love this place!” I cheer as I see our stop. It was a small Italian pizza and pasta restaurant, my family and I used to go there on special occasions, and the food was amazing.
“Lets go get some food then!” says Niall and the six of us head inside the warm restaurant, filled with soft gold lights and delicious smells.
“Shall I get the fettuccine, with honey roasted pumpkin and stuff or the spaghetti?” Zayn asks as we look over the menu’s trying to decide what to eat.
“I’ll get the fettuccine, hey maybe we should all get a different dish and then just share them around? So we all get to try something different.” I suggest and all the boys agree.
We end up ordering a few pizzas and dishes of pasta and now we are casually sipping our drinks as we wait for our order.
“Thanks so much for bringing me here with you guys.” I say to the boys as we sit.
“All good Aria, it’s been great fun hanging out with you.” Says Liam.
“I’m gonna miss you guys so much.” I say, taking a sip of my sparking pink grape fruit juice.
“We will too, we’ll keep in contact though.” Says Harry and I nod, I had all of their numbers now, and they all followed me on twitter and stuff and we’d traded Skype names, so keeping in contact wouldn’t be a problem.
“Here’s your food.” Says a pretty waitress placing our first lot of dishes on the table, and returning with another two.
“Thanks!” I say to her, and then we all dig in.
“This is sooo good.” I say, trying a little bit of each dish.
“I love this place.” Says Niall.
“More pasta.” Liam says, taking another piece of pasta from his favorite dish.
Half an hour later the dishes are clear and the six of us are clutching our stomachs.
“Hey, Niall, do you mind coming out to the limo with me? I think I left my phone in the car.” Says Harry, and Niall nods as the two of them get up and leave the table.
“Zayn, let’s go pay, Aria, Louis, we’ll meet you out at the limo in five.” Say Liam as him and Zayn head over to the counter.
Is it just me, or did I see Zayn wink at Louis.
Hmm, I must be seeing things.
“Ok, uh, shall we head out to the limo then?” I ask Louis a minute after Zayn and Liam have left, they’re probably waiting in the limo for us now.
“Uh, sure.” Louis replies and we get up and head out side.
Just in time to see the limo driving away, the four other boys waving at us and laughing.
“Rude. How are we going to get home now?” I mutter, turning to Louis.
“Shall we go grab a hot drink or something whilst I call Liam and get him to organize a ride for us?” Louis suggests, and I nod.
The two of us cross the road and head into a warm cafe and I find a table in a quiet spot whilst Louis orders a pot of tea.
“Hey.” Louis says, sliding into the seat opposite mine at the small table.
“Hey.” I reply, not really knowing what to say. I feel a little crushed right now, realizing the fact that Louis and I being together is about one chance in a million, seeing as he’s leaving tomorrow, and long distance relationships probably won’t work if you start the relationship the night before you leave.
Oh well, I’ll survive.
“So...I hope you get your job.” Louis says to me, trying to make conversation.
“Yeah, me too. Also, you look great tonight, sorry I didn’t say before.” I say to him, it’s true, he’s wearing a casual outfit but it looks really good on him.
“Thanks, you do too, that dress really suits you.” He replies.
“I love this dress, I still don’t know who picked it out on that day in Wellington though.” I tell him and he smiles at me from across the table.
“I did.” He replies and my eyes go wide.
“Wow, you have a good taste.” I say.
“Of course I do, I mean, I’m the most stylish one out of the lads!” He laughs.
“Obviously, your the only guy I know who can look hot in a pair of suspenders!” I reply, and then clamp my hand over my mouth, realizing what I said.
“Not that I go around thinking that...” I mutter, I probably look like a tomato right now.
“All good.” He smiles, looking me straight in the eye.
Oh god, those eyes, they’re like turquoise gems, staring into my soul. I just can’t look away now, ugh, this isn’t fair! I have a weakness for eyes! I just stare back at him, captivated by his gaze, which is only broken by a waiter saying...
“Here is your pot of tea, enjoy.”
“Thanks.” I say, smiling up at the waiter, who smiles back and walks away.
I turn to the pot of tea to find Louis pouring out two cups.
“Here you go.” He says, handing me a steaming cup, I pour in some milk and then take a sip, it’s delicious.
“Thanks, this is perfect, just wondering have you called Liam?” I ask Louis as he takes a sip of his own tea.
“No, I completely forgot, I’ll call him now and put him on speaker phone, lets see what he has to say for himself, but keep quiet Aria, so you can surprise him at the end.” Louis says, flashing me and evil plan smirk.
“Sure.” I say, this will be interesting.
I watch as Louis calls Liam and puts the phone on speaker.
“Ahh Louis! You called! Enjoying your time alone with Aria?” Liam answers, chuckling at the end.
“Liam, why did you guys ditch us? Also, can you get us another ride?” Louis replies.
“You know why we left you alone with her! And sure, I’ve already arranged another ride, it’s going to be there in half an hour.” Liam says.
“Thanks Liam, I guess Aria and I will see you guys in half an hour then.” Says Louis.
“Ok, see you two lovebirds then!” Liam laughs.
“Hey, I heard that!” I interrupt and hear a small gasp from Liam on the other end.
“Hey Aria.” Liam says.
“Hey there Liam.” I giggle, Louis laughing with me.
“Sorry, I didn’t know you were listening to that. Sorry, I’ll see you two back at the hotel soon. Bye.” Liam says and we hear the click of him hanging up.
“Aww, you got him good Aria.” Louis laughs, slipping his phone back in his pocket.
“It’s what I do best!” I reply giving Louis a big smile.
“So, are you looking forward to going back to London tomorrow?” I ask Louis, my voice turning to serious.
“A little, it will be good to be in England again, but I’ll miss this place.” Louis replies.
“I’ll miss all five of you.” I say softly, then I place my cup back on the table.
But as I do so, I see Louis hand shoot out and he grabs my hand from across the table.
“We’ll all miss you too.” He says, holding my hand. It’s a small gesture, but it’s cute and I can still feel an electric current running through my hand.
“I hope you don’t mind being texted all the time.” I say, trying to lighten up the situation.
“Nope, I don’t mind at all, none of the other lads will either.” He replies.
Louis and I continue to chat for fifteen minute more when his phone goes off in his pocket, and he pulls it out with his free hand as the other is still holding mine.
“Our ride is outside.” He says, smiling at me.
“Lets, get going then.” I say, and the two of us walk out of the cafe, hand in hand.
“Wow, I didn’t expect Liam to get the limo to come back, I thought it would just be a taxi!” I say, a little surprised as we step out into the night to find the limo waiting for us.
“Oh, well, lets make the most of it.” Louis chuckles, and the two of us hop in, heading to the back couch.
I begin to feel drowsy and I end up snuggled against Louis as the limo drives along the dark streets, luckily he doesn’t protest, and instead he wraps both of his arms around me.
I feel the limo come to a stop, but I’m half asleep and moving doesn’t seem like an option.
Louis picks up on this though and I find myself being carried up to our suite.
“Hey guys.” Niall says as he opens the suite door.
“Oh, she’s asleep?” Niall asks Louis. “Yup.” Louis replies, I’m guessing they think I can’t hear them talking.
“Aww, isn’t she cute when she sleeps.” Niall chuckles, as the two of them head into my room with me.
“Yeah, she really is.” Louis says.
“Your gonna miss her, aren't you.” Niall says to Louis as I’m laid down on my bed and I feel sheets being pulled around me.
“We all are Niall.” Louis replies.
“Yeah, but we’ll miss her as friends, you’ll miss her differently.” Niall says, wow, I’ve never heard Niall sound this serious before.
“You got me Niall.” Louis sighs.
“It’s too bad we can’t stay longer, you guys would have been a great couple.” Niall says.
“Yeah, but I still don’t know if she likes me in that way.” Louis says.
Wow, this is interesting. Louis likes me? This is just going to make tomorrows goodbye even harder.
“She likes you too Lou, you can tell.” Niall whispers.
“I better be going to bed now, it’s pretty late, and I need to wake up to catch the plane tomorrow, see you Lou.” Niall says, and I can hear him head out of the room.
I’m slipping out of consciousness now, but I still feel like someone is in my room.
“Night Aria.” Louis whispers, giving me a soft kiss on my forehead.
Then Louis speaks again, “Aria, I-”
And thats when sleep takes over and I am pulled into the land of dreams.
