Ok, I know, I've broken my posting schedual AGAIN.
I suck.
But I have a good reason. I've been sick. Really sick, I woke up yesterday morning with the worst throat ever. It was so so so so so painful, and everytime I tride to swallow it hurt soooo bad, like er, I can't explain, but owww it hurt. It was so raw. Anyway today I woke up and my throat is feeling a tiny bit better, but now I'm getting a cough, so I'm just busy sucking on cough lollies.
I hate being sick.
But I had to get this chapter up for you guys! so I hope you enjoy it!!! xx
“Hey there Aria! I’m Serena, the manager here at Forever New!” A cute tall girl with long strawberry blonde hair says to me as I walk up to the counter for my first day at work.
“Hello! Nice to meet you!” I reply and she pulls me into a tight hug, I can tell we will get along, she’s so sweet.
“Well, you go and pick out some new season clothes you would like to wear and then I’ll get Mia here to show you the ropes!” Serena explains as she gestures to a pretty girl about my age with light wavy brown hair.
“Thanks. Nice to meet you Mia.” I say heading off to find some clothes to wear with her.
“Same to you! Now lets see, what would you look good in.” Mia replies heading over to a new season rack and searching through some dresses.
“Aha!” she says, pulling out a white lacy sundress which looks completely adorable.
“I love it!” I reply and she flashes me a grin and the two of us head over to a wall full of shoes.
Mia picks our a pair of white and gold heels and finds a pretty gold headband and bracelet to match.
“Now go put it on!” Mia instructs cheerfully as I head inside one of the changing rooms.
I quickly take off my jeans and tank top and slip into the dress and heels, putting on the accessories afterwards.
“Tada!” I say pulling back the changing rooms curtain and stepping out to show Mia.
“That is perfect! It looks great, and even your necklace matches!” she says, pointing to my locket.
“Thanks.” I say, looking down at my locket, Mia walks over to me.
“Can I see whats inside?” she asks curiously.
“Uh, um, it’s personal, maybe later?” I reply and she smiles understandingly at me.
“Ok, well the shop opens in ten minutes, so how about I show you how to work the counter and stuff like that?” she asks.
“Sure! Whatever you say!” I reply and she pulls me over to the counter with her.
“Oh, you also have to meet the rest of the team!” she says, and calls over a few other girls.
“Aria, this is Rachel, Hannah and Jessie!” Mia says introducing me to the other girls.
“Hey.” I say giving them a smile, they all smile back sweetly and give me a quick welcoming hug before getting back to work.
Wow, everyone here seems really nice, I’m starting to think working here will be a lot of fun.
“Hey girls, can I help you with anything?” I ask a group of teenagers as they pass me in the shop.
“Uh, sure, we’re looking for some dresses for our school formal.” Says one with ink black hair.
“Sure, let’s see, what colors would you like them in? Anything in mind?” I ask.
“Maybe something blue, or red...” Another girl answers and I nod, taking them over to a rack of bold dresses.
I’d learnt a lot since this morning, and work was going well, and now it was ten to twelve.
I’m a little nervous, because in ten minutes I’ll be meeting my mum like I’d asked in my text.
Hopefully this will all go down well.
“Hey, Aria! You’ve gotten off to a great start, you can take your lunch break now if you want.” Says Serena coming up to me as I straighten up a wall of shoes.
“Oh, uh, thanks.” I mumble, suddenly feeling quite worried.
“Ok, see you back in half an hour!” says Serena and I head over to the staff room to grab my bag.
Once I exit the shop I head over to the cafe where my mum usually has her lunch and take a seat at an empty table, waiting for her to come.
“Hello miss, can I get you anything?” a male voice asks, interrupting my train of thought.
“Oh, uh, I’m just waiting for my mum, I’ll order then, thanks.” I say, giving the waiter a sweet smile. He replies with a wink and saunters off.
Weird, I’ve never really had that reaction from guys before, I guess that comes with being twenty.
I stare into space for a few minutes until I see the blonde hair pulled up into a bun that I instantly recognize as my mums signature do. She heads over to the counter to order a coffee, and then takes a seat at a table across the room from mine.
“Ok, Aria, you can do this. It’s only your mum.” I mutter to myself before pushing my chair out from the table and confidently striding over in my gold and white stilettos to my mothers table.
“Hey.” I say, giving her a smile as she stares up at me.
“Uh, hi, I know you from somewhere...don’t I...” my mum replies, giving me a small smile back.
I hope she can see that I’m her daughter.
“You’re Louis Tomlinson’s girlfriend! I met you at the airport!” my mum states, and I mentally face palm myself.
“Ugh, how do I explain this to you...” I mutter under my breath, taking a seat in the spare chair at her table.
“Pardon?” my mum asks me, looking a little shocked that I’ve just randomly sat down next to her.
“Hi, mum.” I say, and she stares at me for a few seconds, studying every inch of my face, then suddenly, it’s like a lightbulb has gone off in her head, and her eyes pop.
“Aria?” she asks.
“Yup.” I reply, popping the p as I rest my elbows on the table.
“But, you can’t be. Aria, is fifteen...” my mum mumbles.
“Mum, it’s me. Can’t you see that I’m your own daughter?” I ask.
“I guess, but, why? How? You look, twenty...” my mum replies.
“Thats because I am mum. Look if I tried to explain to you why I looked, and am twenty, you wouldn’t believe me. So how about we keep this on a need to know basis.” I say to her and she nods her head once.
“I can’t believe it’s you! But I know your Aira, I can see it in you, so whats going to happen now?” my mum asks.
“I have no idea, I’ve gotten a job at Forever New, and I’m living in a hotel for the time being. But I’m trying to get enough money to rent out a flat or something.” I reply and my mums eyes pop again.
“How did you get the money to stay in a hotel?” she asks.
“Guess.” I mumble.
“Oh right, you were at the airport with One Direction...wow, thats crazy! So, did they pay for the hotel suite? And are you dating Louis?” mum questions.
“Yeah, they’ve paid for me to stay at the hotel for a while and no, I am not dating Louis.” I answer.
“That is so nice of them, how did you meet?” mum prods.
“They looked after me after I fainted at their concert, don’t ask why, need to know basis remember. And now I guess I’m sorta friends with them, I’ve been staying with them for the past few days, except they went back to London yesterday.” I say.
“Wow. You. Friends with One Direction. It’s like your dreams came true.” Mum sighs, taking a sip of her coffee.
“Ahh, yeah, I guess.” I mumble. If only she knew how exact that comment was.
“So, thats why you were so upset when I saw you in the airport with the boys, and thats why their autographs were so personal...wait, the one Harry wrote, sweetie, did you kiss Harry?” she replies and I feel my cheeks flush.
“Yeah, thats why I was upset, I thought you’d recognize me, but then again it’s not everyday your daughter mature’s five years overnight, and yeah, I did kiss Harry, it was for a dare though.” I reply.
“Oooh, so, do you like Harry now?” mum asks.
“Only as a friend.” I answer.
“So do you like any of them in that way sweetie? Now that you’ve met them?” mum asks, and I bury my head in my hands, this is so awkward, but so like my mum to do. She likes to act like she’s my age, it’s cute.
“Muuummm, do I have to answer that?” I mumble into my hands.
“Yes, sweetie! Tell me all the goss! Have you kissed any of the other boys?” mum gushes.
“MUM! One minute you didn’t know who I was, and now you want all the goss on my nonexistent love life!? You are crazy!” I exclaim and she laughs.
“You know me sweetie, I’m just silly like that. Ooh, is that a new necklace I see?” mum gasps, looking at my locket.
“Uhhh...it’s personal.” I mutter, touching the necklace protectively. But mum manages to grab my hand and she leans across the table to pop open the lockets’ catch.
“MUM!” I yell as she looks at the two tiny photos of Louis and I. In one of them he’s kissing my cheek and I’m laughing at something, and in the other photo we’re both smiling with our arms wrapped around each others shoulders.
“Oh, my gosh! Sweetie! These are adorable! Did he give this to you? Sooo, are you not telling me something...?” mum asks and I glare at her a little.
“Yes, he did give it to me. And no, we are not together, I told you before. Ok, he’s too famous to want to go out with a nobody like me anyway.” I reply and my mum pulls me into a hug.
“He’s probably forgotten about me already.” I mumble into my mothers shoulder.
“No he hasn’t sweetie, no one would forget a wonderful girl like you. I can’t wait to say ‘I told you so’ one day in the future.” Mum comforts me, and then puts her hands on my shoulders.
“Sweetie, do you want to come home?” mum asks.
“Uh, well I’d sorta like to try flatting, or living on my own, seeing as I’m twenty, I think one of the girls at work is looking for a flat mate.” I say and mum nods.
“Ok Aria, I totally understand, your all grown up now, I can’t believe it happened so fast, and I have no idea how. But your father and I will support you, I’ll send you a few thousand to help you start off on your own, and you see if you can stay in a flat.” Mum replies and I nod.
“Ok mum, thank you so much, for believing me, and supporting me. You don’t know how much it means to me. I’ve really got to get back to work now, but thanks for making the job of telling you so much easier.” I tell her.
“It’s ok sweetie, I’m sorry you couldn’t tell me sooner, but just call if you need anything! And to keep me updated on Louis!!!” Mum laughs.
“Alright, thanks mum, I’ll see you another day, I guess.” I say pulling mum in for one last hug.
“Bye sweetie, I love you!” mum shouts as she walks off to her work.
“Love you too!” I reply, heading back into Forever New.
Wow, that didn’t go too bad.
“Aira!” Mia gasps as I walk back into the store.
“Hey Mia, whats up?” I ask curiously as she stares frantically at me.
“Look!” she squeals, pointing to a photo on the screen of her iPhone.
I’d found out this morning that Mia was a Directioner, and it was cool to know I had someone to talk about the boys with, although we both knew them in completely different ways now.
I peer at the photo and do a double take when I recognize one of the figures is me, the other is the one and only Louis Tomlinson. It was taken at the airport, when we shared our goodbye kiss. With the headline, ‘Tomlinson’s ‘New’ Zealand flame?’
Oh no.
“I can’t believe he’s already kissing other girls! And he was in Dunedin! How could he move on so quickly! He only broke up with Eleanor a week ago!” Mia yells, I just stare at her, shocked.
“Mia! He broke up with Eleanor like, a month ago! Don’t get so mad about it!” I yell back, defending him.
“Oh, and how would you know?” Mia replies, placing her hands on her hips in defiance.
“Uh, because the girl he was kissing...was me.”Ohh, cliffhanger! Hope you liked the chapter, you gotta love her mum right! :D
please tell me what you think, and I hope you all have a great day! I'm going to try and get better now, so any messages or comments would get my mind off my throat and that would be great!!!
