Mal: hey mom can I go stay with Thumika for a bit? [Smiles]
Stella: before lunch tomorrow you must be back here
Mal: okay mama [hugs her from behind then she's about to leave]
Liam: buddy where you off to huh?
Mal: to see my bestie
Liam: ah huh
Mal: I'll be back dad
Liam: I know, come [they hit their fists against each other's fists up and down, then bump them, release their fingers moving their hands backwards and then hug]
Mal: see you later dad
Liam: okay little buddy. She's a miracle [looking at her walk away].
Stella: [smiles while also looking] indeed she is.
Thumika: [sings in a funny high pitched voice] welcome, welcome
Mal: just hug me stupid [they hug]
Thumika: so how's it going with the new invention?
Mal: very funny I know you just want to make fun of me
Thumika: [in a high tone while smiling] whaaaaatt........
Mal: hello mummy Bridget [she was about to go out]
Bridget: Mal, it's good to see you how are you doing?
Mal: I'm okay
Bridget: how are my good friends?
Mal: they're alright
Bridget: sorry to leave you, I just have an urgent meeting to attend
Mal: no, it's okay
Thumika: mom you promised you'll make it to my graduation.
Bridget: yes of course, when is it again?
Thumika: you already forgot?!!
Bridget: honey you told me like a month ago how I am supposed to recall after the busy trips I've been having lately?
Thumika: ........... [Walks away].
Bridget: sweetie!! [She just goes].
Mal: you can go I'll talk to her. The graduation is the day after tomorrow on Monday
Bridget: thank you darling. [Looks worried] I'm I a bad mom?
Mal: no, no you're not if anything to be honest you give her more attention than my parents do
Bridget: please do help me talk to her
Mal: I will. [She turns to leave] the meeting you're going to is it a Madison shareholder meeting or just another?
Bridget: it's the shareholder meeting
Mal: [gets low] oh, guess my parents have gone out too. I'll see you later. Please greet my parents for me if you get to see them
Bridget: I will [she leaves]
Thumika: [shedding tears]
Mal: no, bes really? I came here so we can celebrate, but you're crying.
Thumika: it was supposed to be a girls night, she was also going to invite your mom since my dad has been out for weeks now
Mal: look on the bright side we're home alone
Thumika: .......
Mal: listen your mom, actually your parents love and care for you which is why they work so tirelessly to provide for us. The least we can do is be grateful and appreciate the moments we get to spend with them. Tell me you understand
Thumika: I understand
Mal: no you have to look at me and say it
Thumika: [looks at her] I understand
Mal: good. Now how about we check out some really cute celebrities [smiles] huh, huh?
Thumika: [smiles while the tears are still out] I thought you would never admit they were cute
Mal: I was joking
Thumika: [laughs] liar you just said it!
Mal: I was only trying to make you come down [smiles]
Thumika: no! No! [Laughs and starts to tickle her]
Mal: [laughs so uncontrollably]
Thumika: admit it then I'll stop
Mal: okay, okay they're cute [laughs]
Thumika: see [they both laugh out loud].
It is finally the day of their junior graduation and everybody is excited about it. Thumika on the other hand is sad that her father wouldn't be there.
Mal: [on phone call being so live] hey bes!!!
Thumika: [low tone] hey
Mal: I knew you would be like this which is why I called.
Thumika: you know he called to say he won't make it he has a full schedule, but he congratulated me [voice shakes]
Mal: Bes we're here for you all of us my parents, your mom and me. We're all here
Thumika: thanks bes I don't know what I would do without you [sheds tears]
Mal: hmmm be without a fun bestie [laughs]
Thumika: [laughs] thanks for checking up on me
Mal: if you say thank you one more time I will definitely dress up as your dad and dance when you're getting your certificate and embarrass you [laughs]
Thumika: [laughs out loud] you're going to make me late bes I have to keep preparing
Mal: okay bye bes [laughs] [line cut].
The master of ceremony began the program. There were school choirs that sang and students that had all kind of presentations. There were companies that were in-charge of kid talents that were observing and a lot of guardians came to watch their children. Thumika felt a lot better than she felt in the morning. The master of ceremony called for the names of the graduates one by one to get their certificates while their parents stood to receive them back. Thumika was the first to be called before Mal between them both. Bridget stood to receive her back as she walked back down the stairs from the stage to hug her mother, she saw her father Allan sited at the back who also was looking at her and smiled at her as she shed some tears at the sight of him. Thereafter, after a couple of names Mal was called. She walked to the front and greeted everyone on stage as every candidate did then she walked back to Stella waiting to receive her with open arms. After the ceremony, the two families stood outside and took a ton of pictures together. Thumika was now over joyed that her father actually came and lied to her to surprise her and the two best friends took pictures together too.
