This chapter is going to be after the meet and greet and they will be seeing their parents at a restaurant!

Chapter One:

Ashton sat in the drivers seat as I taped my fingers on my leg. Maybe if I jumped out the window I would not have to deal with them, our parents. Ashton had been on edge all day since they called, reminding us of the fancy dinner reservations. My legs began shaking as we pulled into the parking lot. I looked over at him as he placed the keys in his front pocket. His hair was slightly messier than usual, and he had barely visible bags underneath his eyes. I was worried about him, but he constantly said I should worry about me first.

"Ashton, are you sure you want to do this? I can just say you are sick and you can go back home." He shook his head and looked over at me with a sad smile. It practically broke my heart seeing him like this, he was the sweetest person I know, and he did not deserve to feel like this.

"No, I'm alright. We should go in there now." He was already opening his door before I even opened my mouth. I opened my door quickly and slammed it behind me. I ran as fast as I could in the black heels and grabbed my brothers arm, pulling him back.

"Ashton Irwin, you listen to me right now," I said sternly, not caring that he was the older one. "You need to stop acting like nothing ever bothers you, I know you don't want to walk in there, so why are you doing this? You know you don't have to." Ashton's hard glare never left me, he just let out a loud sigh.

"I'm doing this because I need to, don't you think it's time to stand up for ourselves? To make them stop bossing us around and let us live our lives? I mean come on, they have not talked to us for years!"

I knew he was right, but there was no way we would be able to stand up for ourselves when they were so damn set on ruling our lives. Maybe, today would be different though, maybe they have finally realized we can do things on our own and be who we want to be and not their puppets. I was time we got treated the way we wanted to be treated, needed to be treated. Maybe, maybe just maybe they would have changed their ways and have finally become the parents we always wanted.

"Come on, Ashton, let's get in there and show them the great things that has become of us." He smiled for the first time today and lazily put am arm around my shoulders.

"Let's go, little sis." I smiled up at him, and nodded my head, as he leads me to the glass doors of the most fancy restaurant that I have ever seen, well gone to. I looked down and made sure the black dress did not ride up from when I speed walked after my brother.

I could tell he was still on edge, especially when we neared the table that our parents sat at. They were conversing quietly to one another, probably saying how much of a burden I was. My feet were planted to the ground, I could not move. I did not want to go talk to them and have an awkward meal with the two people who most likely hated my guts. Ashton noticed how I was no longer walking, and looked down at me a concerned look taking over his features. He gave me a gentle push towards the table and smiled encouragingly. I took a deep breath and continued to walk to them.

"Hello, mother and father." Ashton said through his clenched teeth. They stood up and looked at the two of us, their cold eyes moving from our heads to our toes. I saw the way my mother flinched when she saw Ashton's shoes, his black VANS.

"Really, Ashton you couldn't have at least worn dress shoes?" She questioned coldly. Ashton looked down at the ground and I took everything in me not to yell at the woman in front of me.

"It's nice to see you two again, now please take a seat." I rolled my eyes, but obeyed her request. We took a seat, I sat across from Ashton and next to our dad, while Ashton sat next to our mom.

I honestly was scared out of my mind for the outcome of this dinner with them. I was just hoping they would not bring up anything that happened in the past. Our parents, they liked to reminisce on things of the past, and usual ended up going on and on about that one tiny subject. That's what all their friends thought was their one flaw, but there was a lot more than one. They just never saw it, or chose to ignore it.

"So, what have you two been doing lately?" I looked over at Ashton as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Well, Clara and I are planning to move to Australia and she will be going on tour with the band." They looked over at me like what Ashton just told them was the worst thing that could leave his mouth. I sighed waiting for the cold stares and the opinions they voiced.

"Why would you go on tour with them if you're not even in the band?" Our father asked, staring me down.

I took a deep breath, hoping I did not say the wrong thing. "He offered so I said yes. I wanted to go and travel with him." I took a long sip of the water they had ordered earlier and looked at everything but them.

This was going to be a long night.

Everyone had finished eating and Ashton and I were glancing at the door we came through, we just wanted to get back to the house and never see them again. They did this about once a year, and they always said this is what good parents do, they take their kids out to eat. Yeah, because that's definitely what all great parents do.

"I have a question before you two leave. Have you ever thought about joining the business?"

"No, I have not and will not. That is not something I want to do with my life." I said sternly. "Now, goodbye. We have to get back home to start packing." I stood up, and walked out of the restaurant with Ashton on my heel.

"Well, that went better than expected." Ashton said, sarcastically.

"Yeah, it's over so now I can go to bed. The two of them tire me out."
