Seonghwa POV
We got to the base at dusk. The house in South America had a large patio with a gorgeous view of the mountains,so we decided to cook dinner and eat there.
We were sitting on the table and eating in silence until Wooyoung broke the silence.
"Changkyun,Jooheon."The two boys looked at him."How did you know where we were?"
"Well."Jooheon said."Even though it was long ago,we've been a part of Iros.We have kind of heard where the big prisoners go and figured out that you were there. We knew the general location of the prison and for the exact place,we used tracking spells."He finished talking, but remained with bitten lip.
"What's wrong?"I asked him.
"How did you escape?"
"What do you mean?"
"I assume you were placed in special traps or cells that are deemed inescapable. How did you get out?"
"Who escaped first,actually?"San asked.
"I think it was me."I answered.
"What were you placed in?"Changkyun turned towards me.
"A tunnel that was getting smaller as you went further in it."
"How did you get out?"
I stayed silent for a second, gathering my thoughts.
"Every time I was about to give up,something made me try again."
"Something?"Jooheon asked.
"Yeah...I don't know exactly how to describe it.Like a gut feeling,a little voice that told me to just keep going,as if it knew that if I continued,I would get out."
"Me too."Mingi spoke out."I was caught in a ring of fire.Every time I went closer to it,the flames would become bigger, brighter and more heated. The same kind of feeling told me to try again and again, even though every time I went up to the fire,it felt as if I was getting burned alive."
"Me as well."San perked up."I found an old Ateez flag in my trap and the same feeling told me to throw it outside the trap."
"Hold up."Jongho turned wide-eyed to him."An old Ateez flag?!"
"Yes."
Jongho stood up and pulled something out of his pocket. It looked like a pen.
"Um..."He looked to Jooheon and Changkyun."Can any of you make it big again?Xion made it smaller back at Iros."
Changkyun muttered a few words and the pen extended suddenly until it was almost as tall as Jongho. We gasped and San smiled with a excited glow in his eyes.
"That's exactly it!"
"So that's why it fell from above!"The youngest told him."You threw it!"
"I had the same feeling."Hongjoong said."My trap included voices who practically made me feel worthless.A little voice always encouraged me to not listen to them and to fight against them, but the bad voices were louder.
Changkyun and Jooehon shared a glance.
"What's wrong?"I Wooyoung asked them.l
"There's something that helped us find you."The blonde began."After like,a week of us being with you,we began to notice something about you. There's kind of a...protection spell placed on you.But it's not an ordinary one. It's not just average magic energy,it's the energy of a person."Our brows furrowed."I know those kinds of spells are made from dying mages as a last resort when they release the energy within them by dying."
