Just for clarification, I'm starting the first chapter in Aahil's point of view. He refers to his younger twin sisters as 'thing- one' and 'thing- two'. (Rude I know, but that's just my prince for you) Now, to the story.
Five years later
AAHIL
"Come on brother, tell us", thing-one whined for the hundredth time over the phone.
"Don't you get it, they'll be over hundred people on that parade ground dressed exactly like me, how do you expect to spot me?", I asked incredulously, these girls are driving me insane. I sat down on the bunk bed in the room, abandoning my boots.
"Just tell us your position, we'll figure that out". Thing-two piped in.
"See, I have less than an hour to get ready. I'm not supposed to be on the phone right now", I said.
"An hour is more than enough, it's not like you have to wear makeup or something", thing-one remarked. She thinks she's smart.
Before I can open my mouth to reply, I heard Izhar's voice.
"What's up now, who are you talking to?", he asked causing me to look up at him. Izhar was almost done dressing up, while Muhammad who came to join in was still battling with his cuffs.
"It's just thing one and two", I replied waving the phone at him.
"What?", Muhammad asked raising an eyebrow and I immediately corrected myself.
"My sisters"
"Oh, those twins", Izhar contributed.
"Yeah, those devils". I added causing Muhammad to chuckle while Izhar gave me an unimpressed look.
"What?" I defended, "They've been bugging me to tell them my position on the parade." I checked my phone to see that the call was still ongoing. They must be listening.
"Just tell them. I mean, aren't you the person that'll bear the Nigerian flag? It'll be easy to spot you." Muhammad stated causing me to mentally face palm myself. But before I could lash out on him, the phone spoke.
"Thank you Muhammad!" Thing-two squealed.
"You're welcome" Muhammad leaned in to reply.
I brought the phone back to my ear. " Why do you guys even need to know, just don't shout my name from the pavilion".
"Don't worry, we aren't children. Dad bought us these latest Samsung phones. The cameras are so cool. I bet I'll be able to zoom in enough to record your facial expressions no matter how far." Thing-two explained.
"Whatever, you got what you wanted. Get lost" I said before cutting the call, not bothering to say salaam.
"Thank you Muhammad" I said sarcastically glaring at him hard.
"You're welcome!" he replied to annoy me while Izhar just chuckled shaking his head.
Well, meet the people I went through this hell called NDA with - Izhar and Muhammad. My course mates/best friends.
__________
"Seen anyone yet?" I asked Izhar as we both looked around. We have been released and were currently looking out for our families. Alhamdulillah the Passing Out Parade was a success and we were now Flying Officers. It feels like yesterday, minus the hell we went through. I just can't wait to see the look on my father's face. Yep! I have won.
