I love this head canon that when they were in high school Tord didn't know proper English and (Insert ship cause I like all the Tord ships) Helps them cause it makes me s o f t

In all seriousness, I'm really proud of this one personally- It took me 6 hours of continuous planning and then actual writing, and then like, a week of trying to psych myself up to type and post. I hope you enjoy:)
The setting is the US for plot convenience
...

Sorry it's long-)

Warining: Mentions of abuse

Do you know the feeling you get right before your about to vomit? The watery spit stuff floods into your mouth and you panic and then you end up panting?

That's how I felt about him.

He was a bastard and a bad person all around, but something about him drew me and I could never tell you what that was.

He moved here halfway into my senior year of high school from Norway and he barely spoke a lick of English.
When you see an "Exchange student" in movies it's always makes it seem that they're interesting and charming and all the girls fall on their knees immediately in their presence; Tord wasn't like that.
He was always the last picked in gym class and the first out as well, though you would have to tell him that multiple times before he actually understood what you were saying. His accent was weird and no one could understand what he was saying most of the time. He sat in the front of the class in my math class right to me and where I used to put my backpack.
Of course I noticed when a random human appeared in my backpack holder. I disliked him instantly. When he got nervous he would start to freak out and speak crazy fast Norwegian. He got nervous a lot. He was terrible and when he became "friends" with my best friend Edd I wasn't too happy. But he told me to give him a chance and so I did. That's how I ended up stuck in the back of the library after school with a dictionary and a bottle of booze in my backpack.

He sat at a small table, kicking his legs under the table as he walked with his fingers across the desk. His eyes seemed to light up when I walked in.

"Tom!" He smiled and shuffled over with his chair so I could sit. I remember sighing and wishing I was dead.
The library was hella cold so I pulled a blue hoodie my aunt had bought me the week before over my head. I thought it suited me well enough. Tord's eyes burned holes into the back of my head before I turned around and flared at him. His grey eyes were fixated on mine, a four year olds shit eating grin on his face. He looked so... immaculate. My shoulders tensed until I took out my bottle of booze and flicked off the lid, knowing no one would see us back where we were

"Tell anyone and I beat your ass into the ground." I would mutter, his head jerking up as he nodded like a bobble head, not speaking a word.

"I like your eyes." He said, still staring at me. "They resemble night sky."
I cringed and slammed the book on the desk making him jump.

"Faen! Du er en skikkelig rumpe-" He shouted out, in which I later learned that he was basically calling me an asshole.
"Shut up. We're gonna get this over with so that I can go home." I grimmaced and opened the dictionary to a random page.

"You seem like no want go home."  He remarked, sighing and sitting back. "I no wanna be here any more than you. I try to make light of situation to make more ba-ba-bare-" He stopped and thought for a second, muttering cures to himself. "Bareable." He sighed like he just saved himself from getting killed.
