Edd sat in the living room alone, watching cable television and sipping on his cola and occasionally flipping through the channels, his expression bored and uninterested.
Tom had left a few hours ago to go to a bar of some sorts and Matt had been in his room, most likely obsessing over himself as he usually did. It was around 6:00 PM and Edd had planned on watching a movie with the two but they were too involved with other things at the moment. He wanted to watch it with both of them but he honestly wished that he and Matt could watch one alone, Matt getting scared and jumping closer to him every one.
Edd had secretly had a tiny itty bitty crush on the ginger, loving his presence more than anyone else's. He rolled his eyes as he thought about it, knowing that it was stupid and that he needed to get over it. He sighed and sprawled out on the couch, his attention span being that of a gold fish. He groaned and sat lopsided.
There was a crash from the other room, catching his attention. He raised an eyebrow and peeked over the couch, his eyes narrowing.
"Matt..?" He peeked around the corner to see his door was still closed, everything silent again. He forced himself not to investigate further, Ringo probably just messing with something in his room. He sighed and resumed watching the television, some talk host rambling on about some celebrity gossip.
There was another crash and what sounded like broken glass. Edd jumped up, deciding it was time to do something. He slowly crept off the couch, holding his empty cola can in his hand, prepared to throw it at any intruders. Not that it would do anything but possibly stun them, but he wasn't really thinking. He crept to the hallway and peeked in, seeing nothing. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously. He walked into the hallway, knocking on Matt's door and constantly checking his back.
"Matt? Is e-everything okay?" He asked nervously. There was rustling and more crashing from in the room but no response. "Matt... I'm coming in-" He slowly turned the knob and pushed the door open.
"Eep! Edd don't come in-" Matt called, obviously hiding under a blanket. Matt's room was normally a complete mess but it was an organized mess. The sight that latpyed before him was definitely... Not. It was a complete mess in there, one of Matt's many mirrors shattered on the floor. Edd's eyes went wide with concern.
"Matt what happened..?" He stood in the doorway, not wanting to invade his privacy. "You're not naked or anything right?" His cheeks went pink with a light blush.
"N-No! I just- Y-You can't-" Matt struggled to find words as Edd walked into the room, leaving the door open slightly as that was the only light source. A low hissing came from the pile of blankets covering Matt. "Dont c-come any closer-"
"Matt you need to tell me what's wrong or I can't help you-" Edd reached his hand out towards the pile, a pained look in his eyes.
"I-I don't wanna!" He cried, shuffling a little. "You can't see me like this!"
"What are you talking about-" Edd slowly pulled the blanket back and revealing Matt curled into a ball, his hands over his face. He was shaking.
"P-Please don't look-" He pleaded. Edd noticed that the ginger's skin was lighter.
"Matt its fine- Now tell me what's going on." Edd sat next to Matt and placed his hand against his shaking friend's back.
"I can't show you!" He cried.
"Why not?"
"B-Because I'm u-ugly!"
"Matt, look at me, please..." Edd murmured, rubbing circles into his back. Matt whimpered and turned, revealing his pained expression. His eyes were a deep shade of red, two fangs hanging from the top of his mouth. Tears streamed down his face.
"E-Edd stop looking at me!" He pleaded, covering his face with his hands. Edd sighed.
"Vampire? How did this happen...?" He was careful with his words, not wanting to set Matt off more than he was.
"A-A few years ago I got bit a-and this just happens sometimes but normally no ones here-" He mumbled, his words slurring. It took Edd a moment to figure out what he said.
"And I'm here this time..." He murmured, looking down.
"I-I didn't want you to have to see me like this..." Matt sobbed a little.
"I don't mind..." Edd slowly lay next to Matt and wrapped his arms around him, holding his head close to his chest in an effort to comfort him. "Why do you keep saying you're ugly? You're normally so... Confident-"
"Look at me- I'm a freak..." Matt clung to Edd's hoodie and cried.
"Matt... You're not..."
"H-Huh?"
"You're not Matt, you're always handsome-" Edd mumbled, hoping to comfort him.
"You t-think?"
"I know. Matt, you shouldn't worry about your appearance so much... You have a lot of natural beauty and I'm very surprised you don't have a girlfriend yet-"
"Who ever said I wanted a girlfriend-" Matt mumbled quietly.
"What-"
"Edd do you think I'm pretty right now?" Matt looked up, his red eyes glassy.
"Matt... I always think you're pretty... Even if you weren't I would still be your friend because you're a good person and that's what matters-"
"Be my boyfriend." Matt stared at Edd, a completely blank expression on his face. Edd choked on air and doubled over in a coughing fit.
"W-What!?"
"Edd. I want to date you, so please be mine."
"Matt, where in hell is this coming from?"
"You see me for who I am and that's the person I want to be in my life. Please Edd, I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner." Matt's expression was sincere as he held Edd's hands in his. Edd felt like he was legitimately dreaming as he looked at Matt's face, his cheeks flushed.
"This is so sudden- Are you sure you didn't get into Tom's Smirnoff?" Edd felt dizzy as Matt whined.
"Why can't you just trust me! Edd, please this is coming from me." Matt pleaded. Edd thought for a few moments causing Matt to whine more.
"I'll... I'll do it." Edd decided just as Matt's face regained its color, his fangs shrinking and his eyes turning back to icy blue. Edd sighed in relief. "Matt..."
Matt swept Edd into a light but loving kiss, scaring the absolute heck out of the green bean. Edd slowly but eventually melted into the kiss before pulling away.
"W-Warn me next time-" Edd said quietly, his face red.
"I'm back! Edd you cured me!" Matt exclaimed, hugging Edd close and squealing.
"Matt I didn't-"
"Shh-" Matt squished his face against Matt's head. "As my boyfriend you have to give me kisses and snuggles daily." Edd laughed a little and smiled.
"Alright, I can do that-"
"And you get to cuddle me when I sleep-"
"Okay,"
"And you-" He was cut off by Edd's laughter filling the room.
"I love you.." He mumbled, not realizing this was the first time he said it out loud. Matt was surprised, but smiled and kissed the top of Edd's head.
"Love you too, Eddie."
