More Than Magic

Chapter 1: Ya I'm a bad ass wizard what's up?

"Lilly if you don't wake up right now I will happily get Direction to peck your eyes out!" I yell at the sleeping lump of blankets. I love my sister she's an angel... literally, but when this girl is asleep she is something entirely different.

"Athena who names a phoenix Direction?" Oh ya, did I mention she's mean too? I frown and try again to pull down the blankets that are pulled up above her eyes "Leave me be!"

"Okay one, I named her Direction because she is my one and only, I thought it was funny because of that human band. Oh Disney I really do love them! Did you see that-"

"For the love of Disney just stop talking about that damn band! Thanks to you, your poor little phoenix is going to be made fun of and I'm not going to stick up for it, you want to know why? Because I'm sleeping so go away!" Like I said, mean.

Okay time to stick up for myself "Well at least I didn't call my pet miny griffin, Griffin. So creative," Apart from the growl that comes from the little lion/eagle thing balled up at the edge of the bed I am met by silence. Victory! "Anyway, second, you have to go to the meeting with the new General because I am going to the dark side today."

Slowly but surely she sits up in bed revealing her giant mess of blond hair. Like I said my sister is an angel, she has long, golden blond hair with a blessing of natural dark highlights, all matched with dark hazel eyes that change color with her mood. Currently though, you can't recognize her, her eyes are dark brown and I would rather not describe the thing she calls hair that is on her head.

"Sweetie do you realize how weird you just sounded?" No... "I'm going to the dark side today" She mimics "It sounds like we're in one of those Star Wars movies and in a few years you will come back and start talking about you being my father."

I laugh because there's nothing else that you can really do when talking to Lilly. Lilly's a little different, she can act like the most childish person ever in one moment but the complete opposite the next.

She is the most responsible and takes care of most of the bigger and important things in regards to the Kingdom, but that's just the way she likes it. But one thing you have to know about Lilly is that she is not social, like me she will put up walls but with her, she will avoid actually communicating with people at all costs.

She deals with the creatures in the Kingdom, like the ones in the sky, the water surrounding the island and underground in the mountains and mines.

Speaking of mining that's our main export, on the west side of the Kingdom is a large channel of mountains, our castle is located on top of the highest one looking out over the west coast and just above the cloud line. In the mountains we mine fallen, condensed stars. Let me tell you, worlds will spend a heck of a lot of money on them, thanks to Lilly dealing with all of the business aspects we are one of the richest kingdoms in all the worlds.

Now if you haven't figured it out yet Lilly and I are the Queens of Doomsland, Till Doomsday is our motto here, said like a prayer daily. Our world is the first star to the right, just next to Neverland, our main partner. Lets just say that Neverland to us is like America to Canada, except where both Canada, yeah try and follow along. Our other close partner is Wonderland, although they have a bunch of nutjobs, they have great resources, plus they are a joy to party with.

Our national sport here is dragon riding, something our people take great pride in and train religiously for, it's not like we have a shortage of dragons... or people for that matter.

Immigrants, if you will, to Doomsland are mostly from Narnia, ever since their kingdom fell people have been flocking here, others are mostly humans who decided to practice magic and just showed up here... no warning... no preparation... they just move here... It doesn't bother me at all. But to be fair I'm no fan of witches, they are basically just a less powerful and wise version of what I am, a wizard.

Ya, I'm a badass wizard what's up?

As I not have mentioned before, we have another sister Chloe. She isn't a queen like Lilly and I because she was 'all about that princess life' but she did deal with all the social sides of ruling a kingdom. She helped the villagers with their problems and maintained relationships with our partnering lands.

You will know I've been speaking about her in the past tense and well; she's not with us anymore. No, she did not die! Get your mind out of the gutter. She just had to go away for a while, to the human world with no recollection of her life here. It was a sad day when she left, it was hard on all of us especially her fiancé Peter.

You see we are immortal, destined to live forever so you can only imagine how old we are now. Long before our sister was sent to earth she dreamed a lot, mostly about love so as a gift to her Lilly and me granted her wish. We created the perfect guy for her, a guy that now loves and misses her dearly.

Our sister will be brought back soon. Peter talks a lot about how much she is starting to remember, how whenever she sees a clock marked 11:11 she wishes to come home. She wishes for Peter Pan to go to her and take her away to Neverland.

Funny how your mind can be forced to completely forget about your soul mate but your heart won't let you forget? Well to be frank Peter has flown through the portal to see her countless times, she doesn't see him but other people do, and those people write stories about him. Let me tell you, that whole Wendy thing, he is not happy about it.

"Okay it wasn't that funny you can stop laughing..." The voice snaps me to reality, well at least our version of it and I blush in embarrassment. Okay did I mention how my train of thought can go on endlessly? Believe me I zone out more than... than... well more than something that zones out a lot!

"Sorry, but can you please get up and go to that meeting it's important and I can't make it," I plead, I just need to wait for her to switch into an easier to deal with mental state. She looks me in the eye and throws her arms up in the air in exasperation.

"Fine," Oh thank Disney! "Does it matter if I show up like this?" Lilly throws her legs over the edge of the bed and stands, beautiful.

"Lilly put in effort! Wear something nice, like a dress," I smile thinking about my hidden plan, she will hate me but it will be good for her.

She blinks at me with an unamused expression "A dress?" She stands there staring and me for a few more seconds before she bursts out laughing, clenching her stomach and struggling to breathe.

This happens for a good five minutes, yes five minutes of her losing her already long lost mind and me standing there with my hands on my hips and a bored expression planted on my face.

Finally when she sucks in a big breath and stands back up to her full, tall height she walks to her closet patting me on the back as she goes.

She won't wear a dress.
