The Great Cactus Con

I went back home after Henry's birthday. I guess I was going to be maxed out on my schedule again since I have work, then doing stuff with my friends, school, and then visiting Henry, plus I have to travel to go to conventions and events. I was at work when I get a call. I walk out into the lobby and answer it.

h: Hello?

U/N: Is this Hailey G?

h: Yes this is she.

U/N: Hi, we work for the society of conventions. And we were wondering if you could attend Cactus Con.

h: Cactus Con?

U/N: Yes we want you there. Could you do that?

h: Uh yeah let me check my schedule.

I mute my phone and look at my planner. I check the date of Cactus Con. I didn't have anything to do that weekend. I unmute my phone.

h: Yes I am free that weekend. And may I ask where is this Cactus Con?

U/N: Oh it's in Swellview this year and they have the worlds-

h: Okay,I don't need to know any more. Sorry but I am really busy bye.

I hang up the phone. Tip: if they start going off topic you should hang up immediately. (I learned that the hard way.)

I walk back into the building and groan. I plop down on the couch.

"What's wrong with you?" asks Babe.

"It's convention season." I groan again.

"You know you don't have to go right?" says Kenzie.

"Kenz, she's too nice of a person to say no to anybody." says Babe.

"I know I can say no, but then it makes me feel icky inside and it sucks." I tell them.

"True." says Kenzie.

"Anyway it's this weekend so I have to leave again." I say standing up.

"Trip I'm gonna go to tell your dad that I won't be able to be at his concert so I'll have Ruthless give him the picture." I tell him.

"Got it." says Trip.

"Doesn't it bother you that your dad loves Hailey more that you?" asks Kenzie.

"Not really. I still have my mom. Plus he still gives me money and stuff like that." he shrugs.

"Oh that's so sad." says Babe.

"Anyway, I have to go and check on some stuff before I leave. So I'm gonna head to Dub's studio. Do you guys want me to pick up anything on the way back?" I ask.

"Um, maybe some food from 'The Beach'?" says Kenzie.

"Got it." I call as I leave.

I take the subway to Dub's office. After I arrive there I go into Dub's office. He was having some sort of meeting so I quietly wait on the sides. His meeting finishes and the guy walks out.

"Hailey!" says Ruthless.

"Hi Ruthless." I say.

"Hailey, my girl. Come sit." says Dub.

I sit down.

"Okay, Dub, I'm gonna need you not to freak out." I begin.

"Okay." says Dub.

"I'm going to Swellview for Cactus Con." I tell him.

He winces.

"So that means I can't come to your concert." I tell him.
