I was so excited when my family said we are going on vacation to Earth for my fifth birthday. I had never been to Earth. We were going to Antarctica my mother wasn't very fond of humans and supposedly it wasn't going to have any there because it would be too cold for them. We rented a cabin there but I wasn't allowed to play outside alone because Siberian wolves were very strict on children. Even if it was there birthday. I asked my father why I couldn't play by myself and he told me.

"Sweetheart bad things can happen to you if we're not careful. We don't want our baby girl to get hurt." I, of course, thought that he was lying because I was five but I listened and stayed inside a lot which I did not like. My mother woke me and my siblings up for breakfast one morning but, it felt like it was too early to be up. We ate berry parfaits. They were amazing.

Then my mother stood. "So kids when you're done eating I want you all to get dressed and come outside okay?" We all nodded in agreement when I was done I went to my room tied my long brown hair into a ponytail and started to get dressed. I put on a heavy winter suit, and my bright blue jacket with white flowers and went downstairs to put on my socks. I couldn't seem to tie the laces on my socks so I just asked my older brother Talon to do it. Then we were all outside. We all asked repeatedly where we were going but our parents refused to tell us til we got there. It felt like it took forever. We walked to a small shop with snowmobiles but they were huge and fit the entire family.

We stopped in the middle of nowhere. My father paid the man who drove us there then the man left. Our mother told us to follow her but I was bummed out because I thought we came here for nothing but snow ball fights. We had done that the last three days we were here. It was still fun but it wasn't as much fun as the first time. I walked with my father to the top of a small hill and I saw a lot of people. Now I saw kids. I was so excited. I wanted to play with them and I wanted to make a new friend.

"We get to stay here and play for the afternoon. We couldn't do it earlier because the snow storm was bordered around here and I felt that it would be unsafe. So sorry about that." My mother continued and told us about the rules.

My father took the rest of my siblings to get sleds but my mother wrapped her arms around me and told me.

"Happy birthday sweetie."

"Thank you mother."

I went to go get a sled. I chose the purple sled with snowflakes and was about to go down and I fell. I just face planted. I started to argue with myself about my clumsiness. When I heard a voice.

"Hey are you okay?" It sounded so gentle like it wasn't three degrees right now.

I got to my knees with a push on the cold floor below me. I saw a girl. I thought she looked weird. She had tattoos on her face, arms, and legs. I was more shocked to see her in a t-shirt and shorts in freezing weather. But I didn't know what to say so I just said I was okay as she helped me to my feet.

"Well hi, i'm Zoey, Zoey Frost." she smiled.

"I'm Howling Brown...um thanks for helping me."

"Your welcome so what are you doing out here."

I shrugged "I think I was falling"

She laughed "Well if you're not too busy falling do you want to come to play with me and some friends?"

"Sure but I have to ask my parents."
