"Eighteen"- A Tragedy Story

PROLOGUE

At the age of eighteen it is wise enough to define expectations from your life, coming of age is a different experience for everyone filled with love, passion, mistakes and betrayal. You draw the line between your fantasies and your desires. Mine was a life changer.

I am Morgan Mellark, a basic teenager whose childhood was snatched away by her father n my teens were spent balancing the responsibilities.  I have never been to a school or have had any life outside except of my work, Rue, my sister and my mother. But  I want Rue to have it all.

My mother Noah Mellark, was the finest baker in our neighbourhood, and we were living kind of happily in our busy daily lives. But the most unexpected incidents happen at the most unexpected time in our lives.

On the 27th of January 2017, it was a cold winter night, my mother was returning after a long day at the bakery along with a cake for my eighteenth birthday which was on the other day.
On her way back, she  died in a car accident.

It was a long dark night. A night of misery and pain.

We were called and informed by the city hospital about an hour later. She had already passed away.

Rue and I spent the gloomy night trying to support each other. I wiped her tears making sure that she didn't see mine.  I had to stay strong at least for her.

The next day almost the entire town had gathered in the backyard of the old church.
There were rows of chair with a front row of fancier chairs. I'm front of the chairs laid our mother's casket, covered by the flowers brought by the people.

The atmosphere not only looked gloomy biyt also felt gloomy, it was a very sad sight with no smiles. Soon the procession started.

As the casket lowered into the ground, many tears also shed and suddenly it started to rain as if the gods of the heavens were themselves crying.

I stood frozen. No idea what was going to happen next in our lives.

And then in the middle of this misery I found who I truly am. This is a long journey ahead!
