"Why not go to TCU?" my mom asked handing me their brochure and the letter they sent us. "do you not like that school?" The amount of offers i recieved is overwhelming.
"its not a bad offer or school, i just cant see myself being a Texas girl." i respond crinkling my nose. We continue to flip through letters and i was so surprised to see these offers from all across the nation. While still reading through, i looked up to see my mom jaw dropping as she stares a closed envelope.
"Oh my god Tiffani." my mom gazes at me with her mouth still open.
"Hey mom, close your mouth before you catch flies." I chuckled. "what is that?" I looked at the envelope and pointed at it. I stuck my hand out asking my mom to give me the envelope.
She handed me the letter and now I know why she was shocked. I felt my jaw drop and I was in full joy.
Australia. I got an offer from Australia. It's my freak to go there, I have a full ride. I'd be an idiot if I turned this down.
"Well I made up my mind." I smiled at my overjoyed mother. She called my dad in the room to share the news. This was so perfect. I saved my money from my two part time jobs. But I know Australia is expensive and I need an apartment.
"You have to promise to visit on holidays, Tiffani." my mom said now in tears from some reason. I don't know if she's proud of me or happy for me or sad I'll be leaving. Probably all three.
"I promise. Call them mom please." I begged her. I left the table to go tell my sister, whom was upstairs in her room.
"Ryan?" I ask slowly opening her door. She looks at me and smiles.
"Hey tiff, what's up?" she said putting her phone on her charger and then looking back at me.
"I need to tell you something."
"By the big ass smile on your face, I'm guessing that it's gonna be something good," she giggled and patted her bed telling me to sit there.
"Okay, I don't know how you'll take this," I started t say as I sat down next to her. "well.. uh... I got a soccer scholarship to a very good school."
"That's great, Tiff! Why would I take that any other way but good?" she chuckled.
"There's more. The school is.. in Australia." I choked out. I bit my lip worried to see Ryan's reaction. I could see her happy face fade away.
"What?" she almost whispers.
"Look, I promise I'll be back for every holida-"
"You're really just gonna leave me?" she interrupted. Tears filling her eyes.
"Ryan, listen to me. You know this is my dream. And I will buy you a ticket to come visit me and we can spend time together. This will all work out. We can call everyday, whatever you want." I said catching my breath. Now that I'm thinking about it, it's gonna be so hard leaving my sister. Me and her were really close.
After a long silence, she finally said it was okay and we hugged it all out.
Man, I'm really gonna miss her but I cannot be more excited to move.
Sorry for the awful start. I hope it will get better. This was a bad chapter but dont worry boo.
