Hailey opened the door, and to her relief it wasn't a stranger, it was someone she knew all too well. "Jay," she says, surprised with his visit. Jay smiled as he saw Hailey in front of him. Suddenly, Hailey realized that Vanessa and Lizzie were home. She looked at Jay, and was about to say something when he said, "I really needed to see you." Hailey sees how Jay needed her in his eyes, so she nods and steps out to her porch, slowly closing the door behind her.
When Hailey knew that the door was fully closed and that no one could really hear them, she looked at Jay and immediately asked, "You alright?" Jay gives her a nod and says, "Yeah, I'm good. I just really wanted to see you." Hailey immediately gave Jay a look, and he knew that she wasn't convinced by what he just said. He didn't want to give her the real answer, so he just looked away, trying to avoid Hailey's worried eyes. He was scared, he somehow knew how Hailey would react to his situation but at the same time, he didn't. He also didn't want to be a burden to her anymore. She was always the one fixing his problems, and now he realized that it was his turn to fix them on his own. The only problem was he didn't really know how, because Hailey was always the one helping him fix them.
Hailey was just watching Jay, she can see how troubled he was with his thoughts. She knew that something was wrong, that he might be going through something. Even though she really wanted to know what was happening inside Jay's mind, she didn't want to push him to tell her. With the way they trust each other as partners, the way they could just tell each other what they were going through, Hailey didn't know why all of the sudden, he wouldn't tell her what was going on. She realized that she actually needed to push him to tell her what was bothering him, which confuses her a lot. There was a long silence between Hailey and Jay. Since Hailey didn't want to push Jay to talk to her, and Jay didn't want to tell her what was troubling him.
