diary entry #4 -
"You okay, Devin?" I glanced across the kitchen towards where he sat with his eyes drooping.
He murmured something in response that I couldn't make out.
"Devin?" I walked closer to him. "Did you hear me?"
"I said i'm fine!" His sudden outburst made me flinch. "I'm sorry-I'm sorry. I'm okay."
"It's okay. Why don't you head to bed?" I smiled towards him.
He nodded with a small, false smile.
I continued washing the dishes for 10 minutes before-
Bang!
I gasped for air as I sat up. I couldn't breathe. My chest was heaving and I could feel the tears start-
"Nightmare?"
My mind blanked. My head was still fuzzy from the dream and the hangover. I couldn't put a face to the voice. I couldn't even-
"Blu?" I felt a hand on my back and that's when recognition set in.
"Oh god- did we- oh no." I groaned and dropped my head into my hands.
"What? No?" Grayson snorted. "Sky, are you okay? You're crying- I- We didn't sleep together- It's okay."
"I'm not crying because of that." I smacked his chest. "Why are you in my bed then? Who said you could sleep here?"
"You did? You begged me to stay, actually." Grayson gave me a playful smile.
"No I didn't" I glared at him.
"Really? I have a video- here- look" He smirked, shoving his phone at me.
I just pushed it away and glared at him.
"How did I get into my pajamas?" I glared at him as I noticed that I was not in my outfit from last night.
"You did." Grayson rolled his eyes. "If I knew you were blacked out- I would have just went home."
I rolled my eyes in response. Like- Dude- I don't want you here.
"How did you get pajamas?" I frowned at him. "Are those my Dad's? Did my Dad let you sleep in here with me?"
"Yes- they're your Dad's. He let me sleep over because he didn't want me driving that late at night. And no- he made up the couch for me- but then you showed up crying." Grayson frowned. "Hey- are you okay? You seemed really shaken up last night and just now."
"I'm fine." I snapped. Bang. "And if I wasn't - It would be none of your business."
Grayson went to say something but stopped himself. His lips pursed as he watched me wonder around my bedroom. "What are you looking for?"
"My phone." I frowned. It wasn't in here.
"Maybe you left it in my car?" Grayson suggested. "Want to go check?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
We made our way down the stairs, thankfully Mom and Dad were still asleep, and out the front door. We walked to his car in silence and he unlocked the doors.
"It's not in here!" I groaned. I must have left it at the party.
"Maybe it's at the diner? We stopped there last night." Grayson suggested. "I can take you over there-"
"I'll just have Matt check."
"No- it's a 5 minute drive. Come on. I'll buy you breakfast?" Grayson flashed me a smile that annoyed me.
